Help on Strut/Spring Combo!

Help on Strut/Spring Combo!

Postby ArizonaEagle07 » Mon Feb 02, 2009 7:23 pm

I have ordered a set of Monroe Sensatrac Struts for my 2000 Solara V6.
I am also planning on lowering it using either Eibach (F/R: 1.5") or Sprint Springs (F/R: 1.78").

Has this combo been used before?
I just want the ride as low as possible without purchasing a coilover kit. I'll be using this with my OEM 16" Rims since it is winter but than will be adding my 18x8.5 Rims later on in the spring.

Any opnion on this would be great!
thanks.

I have the same struts on my 99 SE V6. I have 17" Enkei's with 205/40/R17 tires. Yeah they are small ass tires but now that I lowered it, with the Tein S-Techs, I plan on getting a little bit bigger tire. I went from a 3.75" gap up front to 2". In the back was a 3.25" gap to 2" as well. Then I took my subs out of the trunk, Alpine Type R 10s w/ bigass box. Now it sits just a little bit lower up front and now I have a 2.4" gap in the back.

The springs are brand spankin new and I just installed them a week and a half ago. So its gonna drop down a bit more over the next few months. Later I might upgrade to 18" rims, but Im gona wait and see how much more the springs are gona settle. I would rather have a little bit bigger tire than rim.

I'm very happy with my Tein S-Techs. Before my Solara was all jacked up.

Hope this helps in your decision on springs! 8)
