TRD Solara

I just bought a 2002 Solara that came with a TRD Supercharger from Toyota but was sold to me without it. I have some TRD parts like the shift knob but I was wondering if it comes with different internals or other TRD parts like a TRD clutch. Anyone who's bought a supercharged Solara please chime in, I'm curious to know. Thanks.

the supercharger was a dealer installed item special order not a factory item, so you have a standard engine package, the supercharger was a bolt on.... :drinking:

pretty sure it wouldn't come with different internals or different clutch, etc.

I would say the dealer is BS. no toyota dealer sold any solaras with a s/c already installed on it.

the person before you might have had it applied, but then took it off to sell privately.

Yeah I just bought another Solara but this one is a 5 speed. The reason why I know it was factory installed is because stickers put underneath the hood with diagrams of the EGR tube, etc. and the gas cap and door has a sticker saying "Premium Only". I'll take pictures and post them up.

Has anyone bought a new solara with the trd supercharger already installed on it? I think Paladin did, maybe his car has the same stickers.

call bob at trd, the suprecharger WAS NOT INSTALLED AT FACTORY, was a dealer installed item, special order item from trd, and thats the poop on the subject, and your supposed to run premeium gas in the car because its a high compression engine.......... :drinking:

a lot of ppl had the supercharger installed at a dealership, which means that all the stickers, etc were installed and it's one of the cleanest installs you've ever seen- my solara's original owner had everything installed at a dealership including the kit etc it seems

but none came from the factory with the blower though

Oh ok, so there you go. Thats more or less the answer I was looking for. I was simply curious about the TRD parts and the stickers that were put on the car.

By the way, did anyone on this forum have a 2002 Supercharged Solara (silver) dropped on Tokico's and from NJ? Thats where the car came from.
