where to buy rim/tire

where to buy rim/tire

Hello all...

I'm brand new to the forum, as you can probably see... So, to start, this is awesomely informative.

I sold my cobalt ss since I'm going to basic training in about 2 weeks, and upon return I plan on buying my grandfathers gen1 2000 sle v6 (he's only put 25k miles on it and it's one of the slickest cars I've seen never get driven). So I've been looking around at upgrades that I want to do probably ASAP... I'm going to get the TRD springs and rims and tint immediately upon purchase. I have some buddies here in town who do a grade A tint job with warranty and everything I could expect, however, I do not know where to go about purchasing an after-market set of rims. I do know I want some Enkei RPM2 18x7.5's, ideally with a tire of my pick installed on it as well, although I could do the tires locally. Is there anywhere I can save a few bucks? Every price I come by from a retailer seems bound to be $259.99. Any place that offers an exceptional warranty?

tires.com has great service and selection of both rims and tires... including those enkeis you want. they mount and balance the tires for you and shipping is free.
thetirerack.com is also good

Ah, sickeningly prompt response there...

Since I come across your name all the time the last few days searching around this forum and you know what you're talking about; where would you recommend purchasing that TRD lip kit from, as well?

Thanks for your help ;)

Thanks, I actually saw a link to that site in another post but wasn't entirely sure they were synonymous - thus, verification. Appreciate your help!

I bought my enkei's at a local tire shop. Because I bought the rims from them, they mounted and balanced my tires free since I got the tires from tirerack.com

try "wheel connection" @ ebay...they have some competive prices man...I just bought a set of 19" stern wheels from them for less than $650(these wheels go for $1200/set)...that's brand new and in the box...usually they advertise retail prices on magazines like Super Street, Turbo, etc., but if you contact them through eBay many times they can give you a huge discount because most of the wheel distributors are right around their corner...try em out!!!!!

Thanks for all the tips... as far as retailers go, tires.com seems to have the most competitive prices esp on the wheels I'm looking at, but I'll definitely check out the eBay plug you shot me. Still about 3 months off, and the TRD kit will need to be silver :) I really like Enkei's EVO5's also, they're slick. Definitely gotta be 18's, hehe. Thanks, again!
