:o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
a side from the FSTB and RSB i recentlly switched my OEM 16s for TRD REVO 17s and just put the TRD 7 piece.KIt..(last week) im at stock height BUT having issues/regrets before even instaling the KYB and TRD lowering combo:

pros:
1.love the Look 8)
2.like the wider wheell handling 8)
3.curves at high speeds :D

Cons:
1.Almost Any steep driveway..my kit scrapes either front or rear
2.can't park like i used to because of height of the kit
3.worst with passengers
4.anal about not efing up the weak and expensive Lip Kit....

ANYBODY have these issues??? so why the LOWERING REVOLUTION??

I've never had a problem with passengers :-?

And I don't have the lip kit so your other 3 problems are moot to me

i understand your frustration. i have my lara for weekend cruiser for a reason. The parking needs to be watched the curb will scrape your valances. As far a egress and ingress to parking lots, just learn to curve at an angle, its something you will learn to do...I went back to stocks's from plus size rims as I was tried of paying for plus sized tire pricings...its not easy...i'm at 110K miles and going strong...

lets just say my kidneys bleed a lot more than they used to with my new setup

But seriously, you just have to constantly be alert to things in the road and places you probably just shouldnt go. The ride is very harsh with my 17s and JIC coilovers, but i have gotten used to it. I have scraped the front valences a couple times now and the paint is scraped on the undersides of them, but you cant tell at all when you look at the car.

The big things to remember are drive slow and no fat chicks

I have had no ride issues at all. If I need to go over something like a steep drive, I approach at an angle and go slow.

I love my car low. :)

I wouldnt think more passengers would be that much of an issue with stiffer springs provided the rates are beefy enough.

I did it for a better ride, I hated stock with it's grandpa boat feel.
Getting lowered was just a after effect for me.

its all about practice, and going slow when you think your gonna bottom out. thats about it. once you learn the area you live in your straight.

Get this, so i had my solara lowered for say 9 months driving around college, i know every single pot hole, bump, dip, etc whatever i use to use caution on. I use our family xterra to move my sister into VT (i go to school 30mins away) when i had the xterra at my school town i still avoided every possible problem spot, it was me driving like a grandma in a 4x4 when not really nessessary.

I will never own another car that isnt lowered, i just get a nasty feeling when i see big wheel gaps

+1 on that man, before I ever owned my own lowered car I used to think my car looked "alright" unlowered.. after lowering it though.. man... total difference. I will never go back to stock ride height...

Im on tein h-tech/KYB gr2 + 215/50/17 the ride is almost stock and i don't scrape at all..

The ride height isn't even - the front is dippped and the back is high because I have 4 siblings i gotta worry about driving to and from. + gasoline weight + when i put in a system and 2 layers of deadener- it should even out.

Might be a bit off topic but does anybody find that the tien tokico combo noisy as f*ck. I mean on a smooth road its great but as soon as i hit any kind of hole or small bump i get a lot of loud banging. Could this be caused by my sway bar links that i have to replace or could it be the strut mounts or the rubber mounts that the spring sits on. Or is this the price to pay to have a lowered car.

Overall once u drop it u cant go back :D
