TRD Sway Bar

TRD Sway Bar

Postby Solorange » Tue Oct 11, 2005 1:50 pm

I got my new mod in. The TRD rear sway bar. I havent had a chance to install it, but I let you know what i think once its in. It looks a little different than the picture on the internet though. Its a cherry red color instead of the bright toyota red. And there are no TRD markings on it. Is this it? I got it from toyotaparts4u.com.

The color wouldnt matter since its going to be under the car anyway, but it shouldve had TRD badging (sticker) on it... then again sticker wouldnt matter either since its gunna be dirty also...

is the shaping of the bar similar?? and does it still have the two settings of "track" and "street"? thats one way u can tell

but overall, you will LOVE it... espcially after youre lowered... i had fun on every friggin corner

btw, lube up the bushings a good deal so u dont have to hassle with it later... eventually you will have to re-do it tho
Retired... its been fun Image

i can see how having a sticker would give you peace of mind...

but i think you're okay as long as it has the two settings like wtf?? said and the bar is thicker than stock...

it really is one of the best mods you can get for the money...

Yeah I dont care if a sticker is on it, I just wanted to make sure it is a TRD and not a knock off. It is the similar shape and it does have the two settings. Thanks fresco bob for the peace in mind! Anyway ill let you know what it feels like once i get it on.

And when i lube the bushings do I just lube the inside of the holes and the area on the swaybar with the lube? Or do I apply it to both the outside of the bushing and inside the hole?

Well after severy defaults its in. I can definatly feel the rear is more stable! I took it on a few back roads I know of and the car stays planted! I took one of those "suggested" 25mph curves at 55mph! The car only slid a bit but thats due to the all season tires that will soon only be used for winter only. (Ill get some nice sticky tires for my new rims Im working on)

PS I have a question does the track setting, when using the hole that is closer to the front of the car cause the sway bar to touch the linkages that connect to the wheel hubs bump a bit? I was playing around with that and the sway bar was hitting the nuts that hold those linkages. Will the sway bar rotate away from those nuts and not touch when you put your car back on the ground? Cause I was wondering that cause once I start autocrossing next season and I switch it back I dont want any hitting.
