Yea I don't think they're genuine, it says "Recaro Style" so it's probably just a generic. I agree with you though, good seat belts are important...I mean it would kinda suck if you got into a accident and your seat belts broke off :-? You safety is definitely not something you should go cheap on!!!

As far as look though, those seats look pretty nice!!! I spent too much damn $$$ on my wet okoles though :P

If you want a harness like that, then you should go with something like Chikara. I think those are illegal though to use in a passenger car.

Actually, bracket is a big deal.

After I installed my Corbeau seat, I decided to go to Toyota and replace the 4 bolts since there are signs of wear when I take them out and examine them. Anyways, the guy found out that the bolts are strengthen bolts. Therefore he had to special-order them for me.

This can only mean one thing: The bolt holes on the bottom of the car are strengthen as well. If you redrill holes and try to install a bracket there, sure, it will work if you drive around. But when you get into accident, the seat will literally rips out from the floor and throw you around the car.

Just keep in mind, seats are there to protect you in a crash too. Nothing else (seat belts, airbags) will work if your seats are not bolted down correctly.

I've done some research on harness, there's only 1 dot-approved harness in the market, but Solara is not on the list to be able use that harness legally. I heard stories of people having harness but no cage, ended up crushing their skulls when their cars rollover. This is not the only problem. Harness also prevents you from shoulder-checking when driving on streets. So think twice before you use it on the street.
