Body Kit Paint and Install Estimate

Body Kit Paint and Install Estimate

Postby thealkimo » Wed Jan 21, 2004 6:24 pm

Hey Guys! I'm sure that this has been mentioned before, but I can't seem to find anything about body kit paint and installation prices using the "search" function. Those who have had body kits (4 piece) installed, about how much did it cost to have them paint matched and installed? I was rear ended and was wondering if I should spring for a body kit or just have the rear bumper replaced for $800. Thanks for your time, sorry if this is a repeated question!

I would rather spend the money on an entire kit! I found this site that has the black widow kit for $599.99 I am sure it will total out to less then $800.00 with shipping you taking it somewhere to paint.

I know there was another site that had this kit for much less but I forgot where it was. It was like $99.99 for each piece (4 total pieces) I'm sure someone can jump on that.

The 4 piece kits for the Solara DO NOT FIT. I don't think anyone has had a good story about any side skirts other than the Molly Designs or replica ones. Black Widow skirts in particular I know are generally the wrong size and have to be custom fit to the car costing more than the kit itself.

he's right. my friend quoted me $1400 ALONE for the skirts to be refabricated to my car. WTF??? i wonder if there are other skirts that can fit our cars with minimal refabrication. do you think Mustang aftermarket skirts will fit?? or Celica skirts??

You'll get a good answer if you called a local shop for an estimate.
And a better question to ask on this forum would be, if anybody knew a reputable body shop around ur area.

Thanks for the info everyone...guess I'll just stick with the OEM bumper! I don't know about the Celica or Mustang sideskirts...I think the Celica ones would look better though....

I doubt any other sideskirts would fit. Whats wrong with the Molly Designs ones? I have Molly sideskirts and rear valances with the Black Widow front bumper and I think it looks fine.

the molly design ones are sooooo...PLAIN. if i wanted them to be a little louder, fabrication would be painful and cost a lot more.

i think as long as the length is the same, i'm sure a body shop could make it fit for less than $1400...? hopefully.

I doubt all those black widow kit came from same factory. However, for those kind replica or cheap bodykit the installation price are very, depend on the diffculty of installation
