some questions concerning bbk

Postby mig0s » Sun Nov 28, 2010 10:44 pm

So I'm looking to buy a bbk kit from a member here. I just need more info. I know that in order to do a bbk swap, I need the relocation brackets, the calipers and the rotors. But is that it? Do I need new brake lines? Any other things?

Thanks

You don't NEED new brake lines per se, but upgrading to stainless lines would definitely improve pedal feel.

i would think the oem dust shield would be too small for the larger rotors... other than that all you should need is the caliper relocation brackets and the new rotors. i pretty sure you have to have atleast 17" rims also but this is all info ive picked up from others, i dont have a bbk on my car.

u need the trd4life/ericsol relocation brackets, & es300 front calipers & tt supra 13in rotors, & you'll need some steel shim stock .008 thousands to ceter the caliper on the rotor, its a semi tight fit, & ss brake lines would be good, ask gregtrd or trd4life for more info, for the rear u need if u have a 99 camry-solara u can use those calipers as they are the same as the es300, the rear rotor is off a 99 camry wagon or 94-98 es300 rear rotor, not sure about the yrs though on the lexus, & backing plates ask adam or trd for life, as for ss lines i would reccomend them & a high temp brake fluid...

u need 17in rims the backing plates on the front have to be bent slightly for clearance, u can bend the rears back also or u can get the rear backing plates from asgadam...
