ok so after my rear COs blew i had to put my old H&Rs on as a result i have noticed a differance in the ride height between driver's side and passenger side. i attempted to fix that yesterday but the bottom nut on my kontrol pros is stuck on the CO body. how should i brake it loose?

lots of penetrating oil *might* help- but only if it's rust

if it's seized because there is sand/dirt, etc. stuck in the threads, then it won't help...

a vise and a big big mallet may be your best friend in that case...

go over to local lube joint and they should be able to air ratchet it off.
or put the CO back on the car lower it back down and then attempt it again.

The threaded part got stuck on the CO body^^

So I say use all that astroglide that Adam leaves at your home for some penetrating action.

thanks guys, ive been riding around with my old spring strut combo and ive noticed the front seems pretty soft recently, im thinking my front COs are going now too, thers no leaking but i hit bumps and the bound and rebound seems pretty significant.

so another question. after looking into it further, replacing ALL 4 struts will cost about 440+shipping. however, through K-sport direct they only list the struts as F & R and not matched with a specific spring rate. i always thought that the valving must be matched to the spring rate. any clarification?

I had been considering getting a new set all together because i wasnt sure if my springs up front were waring out. I dont knwo alot about coilovers and their repairs so i also ask, do the springs ware out the way the struts do?

springs don't wear as much but the black paint tend to flake off and rust. just prevent that rust from getting worse and it's fine.

the newer gen dampers are much better. painted black and everything.

if ur spring rate is more than 2kg/mm different thatn the oem 9-5 setup, u need to jsut call them and let them know the valving is for ur specific setup.

I had the same problem with a set I got from Rich. Because he ran them year'round they were frozen with dirt and grime. I tried using the hammer and punch but, because the aluminum is so soft it quickly distorted. I ended up trading them in on a new set.
So far, I have put 2 coats of wax-polish to help keep everything off of them. And have put a moly on the threads.
Good Luck.
PB Blaster is a very good product to help you with penetration of the debris. But if it's jammed in there......again Good Luck.
I have an extra set of wrenches for the JIC's if you need to use then.
Got Boost?? :sweet:

thanks :D but my wrenches are doin pretty good. i guess ill have to get creative with thoes bottom nuts. thoes being seized would be a silly reason to have to buy a new set. ill hit them with some pb blaster and see if i can break them loose.
