I just bought one of these for $75.00 including shipping. Once I get it and get it installed I'll post some pics and my impressions.

I just got the shifter and got it installed this afternoon. Overall I like it quite a bit. It is nice and heavy and it greatly reduced the throw. I didn't measure but it has to be close to the 40% that it says. It also reduced the height of the shifter by about 3 inches or so (again I didn't measure). It took about an hour and a half because I couldn't find any tutorials with the same shifter hardware that I have. All the tutorials I could find (as well as the instructions sent with the shifter) didn't have the same mechanism on the top where the ball is held in place. The tutorial I found just had a pin to remove on the front, where mine had the same pin, but was hinged in the back so I couldn't just slide the shifter out. I had to take the pin out of the hinge to be able to completely remove the shifter. The only other thing that I didn't like was that the clamp (that holds in the pin on the front of the shifter hardware) that came with the shifter were not the right size and the stock one broke during removal which is supposedly pretty common. So because of this there is no clamp on it right now. I don't think that it is going to be a problem but I would really like to get one to put on it. Anyways, my overall opion is that it was well worth the $75.00.

How did you think it worked?
It's a see-saw, and reducing the height changes the leverage. You could cut your own if you wanted.

Yeah I understand completely how it works, but it is a lot easier to buy a new one than cut mine, and if I ever want to go back to stock I have the stock shifter. Also, I mentioned earlier that I would post my impression of the new shifter. I guess I could have posted a reply and said "It does what it is supposed to do", but really what would have been the point of that. Maybe others don't know the results of installing a short throw shifter, so consider what others might want to know and not just you. What exactly is the point of your post panic?

I agree, you have a ready-made part and still have the original.

I've just seen "explanations" of "how it's different internally".
