Where is the offset information located on wheels?

Where is the offset information located on wheels?

Postby TRDSleeper » Sat Jan 10, 2009 1:33 pm

Two days before new year's day I hit the curb and seriously scratched my Enkei SC05 wheel. I want to order a replacement but don't really know where the offset information is located. With my OEM wheels the offset was located in between the spokes but that's not the case with my current wheels. I took them off and found "18x7.5" in the back of the spokes and there was a small "50" engraved on the hub. I'm assuming that the offset is 50mm? That would be strange since my order invoice shows 18X7.5 with a 40mm offset, not 50mm back when I got them a year ago. Anyone has any suggestions on where to look for the offset?

Dang, that means I've been using 50mm offset all this time. Freaking website I bought the wheels from sent me the wrong offset all this time. Oh well, at least the tires aren't rubbing and I'll order the right replacement this time around. Thanks for your reply.

I got my wheels from buywheelstoday.com. I remember noticing the "50" engraved on the back of the hub and called the company right away. The cust. rep kept telling me that the offset is never on the hub, but on the spokes. He told me the just put on the wheels and see what happens so I did that. My tires didn't rub so I just left it alone.

OKay, I just received my replacement wheel today. Just as I suspected, the wheel hub has a "50" engraved on the back. Good thing I was able to change my order from a 40mm offset to a 50mm offset. Now that I know for sure I have been riding on 50mm all this time, it's shocking to know that I haven't rub the rear struts like crazy. Oh well, I'll just get spacers later on if needed. Here's some pixs for people to see.
