Any idea what offset will work with 19 x 8.5?

a side not to that 8.5" is just a little bit smaller than 225mm
so if you had a 8" wide wheel with a 225mm tire before....you can keep the same offset and the tire will be at the exact same position

I know Milt has 19X8.5 wheels on his Solaras (gen1 ) with +40mm offset

I'm running 19 x 8.5 with a +35 offset (and 235 tires), you'll just need like 2 or 3 mm spacer in the back. Currently with my Falken FK452's, I had to put 5mm in the back because the tires was rubbing on the coilovers (JIC). The previous tire, the FK451's which were stetched, gave me just enough space to use a smaller spacer. If you're really low there's not much room to the fender. The front would rub alot and I actually got some paint chips around the fender now - unfortunately I raised it so now I've got like a 1 1/2 finger gap.

I have 19"x8.5" +38 Offset.

I have a 1/2" spacer in the rear with longer wheel studs. The fronts have a 3mm spacer. I also have coilovers which are generally thicker than regular struts. You might have more strut clearance from the wheel if you have struts/lowered springs (this means smaller spacers). Rear fenders have been rolled. I also shaved the lower ring (Rear only) used to adjust my coilover so that I can fit 235/35/19 without rubbing.

I have been playing around with spacers lately and this is my current setup. I've had slightly bigger spacers before.

8.5 sounds like a pita.

I'm running on Tein SS, so I'll be fine on the height.

Thanks for the input. I think I'll just have to find another set that is 8.0 wide (so much easier)
