If you compare gen 1 to gen 2 you'll see that every wheel look 1" bigger on gen 1. Example : 19" on gen 1 seem to be the same as 20" on gen 2.
For the look, it all start from you...your taste. Some prefer more rubber, I prefer to have less as possible. I would put some 18's on a gen 1

welcome to solaraguy! what year is your solara! is it lowered at all? give us some info because there are alot of different option!

I first had
17 and unlowered.

then 18s and unlowered..

then 18s and unlowered with lip kit

then finally 18s, lip kit, and lowered.

do it the rihgt way.

lower. rims. lip kit maybe.

Done deal. run 225-40-18.

if u like a tiight flush look.

be like me go with 18x8.5 35 offset.

BUT please, do a search and learn more about offset/wheel width/ tire size.
