Gen 2 sotck 17's are
17X7 +50mm offset

Since your offset (+45mm) is lower than the Gen 2 stock wheel, it will sit a bit (5mm) toward outside. And I know some guys having stock gen 2 17's on their gen 1 Solara.

I'm pretty sure it will fit no problem.

you mean towards the inside...

if it was a +50 offset, he'd need spacers to clear the struts...similar to using the is300 rims

I compare Gen 2 17X7 +50mm offset wheel to the wheel he wants.
+50mm are closer to strut than +45mm, it is what I've said...don't laugh of me on everything... I know my stuff !

sorry, I wasn't laughing at you....

it seems that I didn't catch the reference in comparison to the +50 of the gen2 wheel :)
