Chinky420 wrote:^^ that's cool man, someone's gonna have to make the rest of our solara's look good  j/k

if it makes you feel better i have a deep paint gouge on my front quarter panel that came from when my neighbor backed into my car (still haven't fixed it, lol), also the fender is pushed in slightly further than the corner light.

it seems that most everyone is gonna be in some stage of rennovation, so no worries.

Well, part of front bumper started to peel bad, my friend and i painted and sanded the area so it wouldn't peel again, so you'll see a big white square where we painted it, so it wouldn't peel again. :(

:o
Dang man. Yeah my passenger fender where it meets the front bumper is pushed in a tad bit cause of the aftermarket OEM shite..... :-?
So i'm in the process of gettin' real OEM parts and convertin' my car back to OEM spec.......
Also plan on repaintin' the car later 1 full coat of DWP paint instead of all of this paint matched parts on my car. :(

Parts that are needed for my car.....

1. New driver door. [Started to crack where the repair work was done.] :(
2. New driver fender.
3. New OEM hood, maybe CF hood.....
4. OEM front bumper.

Top Speed Run finished at 130 mph. :o

since nobody has PMed me about caravaning from the south/san antonio, i'm just gonna plan on leaving for austin on friday (got some friends i need to catch up with), and i'll meet ya'll at noon at rudy's as planned.

btw, lee, you may want to consider organizing 'area captains' of sorts....in that, say one of the caravans of people is gonna run late (flat tire, or some other unexpected time delay), you might want to have some regional captain who is responsible to be able to give you a heads up on time frame changes. that way we will know if anyone/group is gonna be late, and also, so we can have some sort of organized communiation scheme, in case unexpected messages need to be spread to everyone.

if anyone is coming from san antonio/south I-35, i'll volunteer myself to wait (leave on saturday) for ya'll, and i'll represent the south central people and be responsible for letting lee know when we leave and when we expect to be getting to rudy's (and of anything that may happen along the way, if it causes a delay)

if nobody is gonna caravan with me, then i'm just gonna leave on friday as i mentioned above.

what do ya'll think? good idea? ...actually, in retrospect, this is probably almost how it already is, with lee leading the northerners, and craig leading the houstonians. i just figured i'd say it out loud so we could all be on the same page.

err... craig (txbmblebee) is also in houston so it wouldn't make sense for him to lead the austonians.

i have no problem being the lead for houston (esp since i already posted the meetup place heh)

Chinky420 wrote:so, my to-do list as of now is:
install y-pipe
seafoam
oil change
carwash

hopefully i'll be able to get it all done in time :-)

wish my list was that easy... it does include a car wash, but also includes getting egr pipe made, getting state inspection (which might end up requiring tires) and maybe putting stock springs back on the front. if i fail the state because of tires, then i won't be bringing the camry to the meet - i cant afford tires till next month. grrr... kids are expensive!!

Just waxed the car! I started the clay bar method, but after doing the hood and front bumper and seeing no difference, I stopped. Maybe it wasn't needed or maybe the clay bar is over-rated.

She looks spiffy now.

I might be bringing a lady friend. If she does come, I won't be able to prove I have the fastest Gen 2 in Texas. We'll all just have to accept it for truth.

lee - that yellow text in the first post is horrid... not everyone has that blue background that is the default theme here. on the "subsilver" theme i use, which is all light blues and grays, it completely washes out in the background.

i don't use the dark blue theme cuz it just looks bad on every monitor i've tried it on. small text on primary blue background just doesn't work for me.

Sorry fellas. My "maybe" has turned into a "not gonna happen".

I gotta work on the 7th. So, unfortunately, I will not be attending.

I hope you guys take lots of pics. I'd like to see what I missed.
