Any recommendations on what's the thing to do in town? (Aside from gambling)

When do you return to Quebec ? Did you go skiing while you were in the area ??

I'll be in MA in May (highly probable)

I have been to the damn dam but didn't go on the damn tour. (This was back in 1995 or 96.) I don't have a rental right now or the hours to commit to driving up there. Next time I'll come and stay longer.

Hotel costs are already off the charts with the convention in town. The first couple nights are $250 per night but tonight's room is $400. :o

The last couple times I went to Montreal I had my boss come too. (Damn!) I need to get back there soon. I am hoping to do business with Patrik's company some day in the future. If anything, I'd like to go there and meet with them.

MA being Massachusetts? (Some people confuse the abbreviation of Maine to be MA. Maine would be closer to you but I can't imagine what would take you there.) Headed to Boston? Should be great weather in May.

Does this mean no HIN or Elmhurst meet for you? So what is leading you on the whirlwind tour?

I'd love to go to Dubai. Be sure to get lots of pictures and go skiing in their mall. (Ski Dubai) I'd love to also know what your Dad does that leads him there. (Construction contracting or IT?)

With average August temperatures of 104F, skiing will sound good to you!

How long will you be in Taiwan? I may be planning a trip to China and Taiwan around that time. I've never been to the island nation.

I Will make it back roughly 3 days before Elmhurst/NIghtshift so I'll be there no worries.
Taiwan is that night after Emlhurst, do I leave for it. should be fun. I'll miss out on a few days of school but that's a-okay.

I'll be in Columbus with the Lara this weekend just drinking at a sports bar called Martini's and then blowing a couple hundred at the Gold Club. I wanted to go to Chicago for St. Patty's Day but it seems dead when the holiday falls on a Monday there. Can anyone tell me if the weekend after is any better; the Lara won't be with me though. That's about it for stateside. I have to go to Kutno, Poland and Shenzhen, China sometime this year for work but just haven't scheduled that yet. I also have to be in Balti, Moldova for a wedding in October(?). I already blew a weeks vacation on the New Year Day snow storm and this past weekend's blizzard and only have two weeks left, but my girlfri....er..I mean..I don't have any plans made out yet.

Vegas was alright! The show was Phreakin huge. The dang camera batteries died and I never got around to picking up another pair. Here is an example of some of the types of equipment we make parts for.

Vegas itself is just huge. Everything has to be bigger than life. The glitz and glamour of the 1960's casinos has gotten lost in this Disneyland of Gambling. There used to be a time when folks dressed up to go to the casinos. Everything was high class and unmatched service. Today, if they can combine bungee jumping and blackjack, then they would do it.

Here are a few snaps of Vegas' beautiful and gaudy sides.

I stayed the first couple nights at the Hilton on the Strip. Then I moved to the Excalibur. (Not nearly as nice!)

Image

New York , New York! A Phreakin Roller Coaster and the Statue of Liberty. Good Grief!

And Fremont Street. I thought my 133" screen was big. Each screen you see pictured in the equivalent to a 42" plasma. What is pictured here, is half of Freemont's screen. The rest is behind me.

I was just in Vegas during the same time! (9-13th) Wish I knew you were there, saw a lot of people going to conventions and also went to the Dam Tour.

^^ The exact reason I created this thread. LOL

It's a blast hooking up with fellow SolaraGuys on these kinds of trips.
It would have been good to hook up, next time I'll try to give more notice.

On my way to Sarasota on the 24th or the 25th of this month. Not flying but a friend is driving to tampa since she is moving there. I'm gonna go with her and then have a friend pick me up in Tampa.

Not suprising... Excalibur is ancient in Vegas terms. Luxor is getting along too. MGM is the only new one I've stayed at. Nice but $$$.

I'm in Orlando... as far as Performance Shops the only Shops i can think of would be Performance Factory and Enjuku... Performance Factory installed a TT Kit on my friend's 07 G35, they like to mess with VQs but if u have the Money and if theres a will then theres always a way for them... Enjuku specialize with 240s but if ur looking for more like a store can't really say b/c the local store RZ Motoring closed up beginning of this year... Things to do besides the theme parks... Clubs in 3 main areas... Universals has CityWalk, Disney has Pleasure Island and theres also Church Street at Downtown Orlando. If theres n e thing in particular you would like to know just PM me... other other than that Hope you enjoy your stay in Orlando! :drinking:
