Louisville, KY cp-e meet Saturday June 25th @ 3PM in Lex, KY

Postby Down2TheC » Wed Apr 20, 2005 8:46 pm

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
We added a shift kit to the project so I'm picking her up on 23 Jun now. I'll be rolling by that weekend if anyone wants to see. I'm out for the 11th meet though. Sorry for the fuss but I want the shift kit and noone even set a location yet. So I'm guessing it's no big deal.
END UPDATE

Assuming the cp-e MAF ci proto goes well, I told Michael T that I'd be willing to roll through KY on the way back to
get the opinion of the hard core Solara Dudes down there. Michael said he'd gather the forces if possible.
So on Saturday June 11, if you guys want to hook up, I'll be heading through Lex and Louisville (hotbeds of Solara activity)
so it would be up to you all to pick the spot.
Image
I'm hoping we can get a head to head "asphalt-dyno" somewhere (Eyes don't lie) so we'll be able to tell folks if the mods
any good and compare to the TRD gear (muffler and filter I guess) and maybe stock.
I have to drive from MD so anytime after 3PM and within 30 min. of the route would be fine. I'll adjust my departure to the meet time.

If the project tanks, we'll know by 5/16. (And you'll proly hear me screaming from KY)

Let's all hope for horses!

post cp-e showdown

Postby PhreakdOut » Mon Apr 25, 2005 4:52 am

If you end up changing your route to the Ohio turnpike and cutting across northern Indiana, I'd be glad to swing down across the border to meet.

BTW, is cp-e setting you up with the tunable system or the fixed system?

Also, ask them if they're interested in selling (yes, I'd pay for it) a second prototype and I will install it. I'd be glad to dyno the car just before install and just after on the same day. I'd prefer the tunable if possible.

KY meet

Postby michaels artic frost » Mon Apr 25, 2005 8:13 am

Hey Mike,

I'm sure DocJohn and I can gather up a few members from SG and I'm thinking about posting this on TN as well. Let me know if you want to open this meet to all Toyotas. This way, we'll get a better turnout.

When the time nears, be safe on your trip to and fro... :)

Phreak, I'd only go the Northern route if the KY meet was a wash. That's the short route for me.

Michael, Sure... open it up to the world. I figure I'm getting a free intake so the more exposure cp-e gets, the better. With so much engine reuse in the Toyota lines, a successful Solara MAF ci might make an easy next Toyota project for them. So sing it to the mountain tops, but you KY SGs might want to set a time/place before spreading it around. Otherwise it might be tough getting it going.

P.S. By the way... this will be my first meet and I'll have eight hours of bugs on the car. She won't be "show" ready. :(

Heck, I might have to make the trip down after all. It's only a 4 hour drive. :-?

I've been looking for a good place for the meet but no joy thus far. I see a couple drags n' tracks near Lex and Lou but none with open field on Saturday. That would be cool. Any of you locals have ideas? Once we set a place, the time will most likely take care of itself.

One week to drop-off day!
Lex is fine by me... but where in Lex? So let's call 3PM a lock and the Lexington guys can start brainstorming.
Looks like 3PM is coo. Seems like some are preferring Louisville. Let's go with Louisville at 3PM. Who lives in Louisville and would like to make arrangements up there?
