8/13: Elmhurst Illinois Show

I have word from GLD. There is a Nitrous Street Car Brawl program that day and they'll be running open drag in between sets. So not 100% open run.
$35 for car and driver if you're racing. $17 for spectator.

Gates 1PM
Fun racing 3PM-7PM
Quals at 4PM
Nitro Brawl at 7PM.

So yeah... there will be a line to sit in.

It looks like Sap's idea is in the lead. I'm all up for meeting and hangin' out. Possibly going for a cruise. Figure out a meeting place (same?) and what you'd like to do. Then post up some details.

My only request is that we roll in earlier than last year. We got stuck in the back off to the side. It would be good to not be the last ones to the party.

we can chill there for a bit and cruise to the city around 8pm. Its about a 30 min ride to the city. so to the city and back - you will probably be back in schaumburg by 10:30 latest...i'm guessing you want to sleep in n save energy for tomm?

anywho - let me know how that sounds. So far i dont see any interest besides Brian and Down2thec....

Sounds like a good plan. I don't have a curfew so I'm in no rush to get back. I grew up in the area and lived there 23yrs so I'm pretty familar with the Western 'burbs and downtown Chi-town.

Reggie, Jeff, Sto, Tacti & all others: Please post up that you will be available to join in. Don't worry, we'll keep the cars clean.

I haven't got any hotels yet, and probably i will stay at some rest area for a night.
i am more than welcome to have someone who may want to join me at the rest area!!

oh, and, are there anyone who wants to go wash car together on saturday?

P.s I'll be in chicago this weekend (leaving here tonight), so if you see a Sand Mica w/ distinct head/tail lights, honk me, and we'll have some mini meet!!

Mine needs some major work. I just need a shaded area to work on her. I'll be staying at the Doubletree Hotel on the edge of the Oakbrook Shopping center on RT83. (Stayed there last year. Just down the road from Elmhurst) They have a nice parking garage and the hotel has a water hose by the dock. They let me use it last time.

If you guys are interested, we can meet there in the am and detail the cars together. I figure we can pool materials (polish, cleaners advice, etc..) We can stay reasonably cool in the shade and the hotel has a bar, restrooms and a restaurant for when we need breaks. Heck, we could probably hit the pool too. LOL

The garage is always empty on the bottom floor and no one will bother us. Plus, there's a power outlet there if you need to use a buffer or anything else.

Afterwards, we can caravan up to meet at Woodfield. Let me know if this sounds good and I'll post up a map.

I'm planning to wash my car at my house before i leave, but would like to wash again before the show.
i'll bring my stuff that i use for the car wash with me, so if anyone wants to use, i'm more than welcome for that.

Reggie: This used to be my stomping grounds years ago. I'd be glad to make sure you can get back. My hotel is just down the road from yours.

We may meet up to detail / clean up the cars on Saturday am before meeting up at Hooters. I'm not sure when you get in town so give me a call. (I'm actually in town Friday pm) Like Tacti, I'll send out a pm with my cell number to everyone tonight.
