8/24/08 Elmhurst, IL Toyota Car Show

What time does the show start for Elmhurst? My guess since its a 6hr drive for me Ill be coming in Saturday afternoon and will be up for hanging out all night. Then going home after the show sunday.

hmm. i wish i had a solara =[ do u guys kno if there is an avalon area? lol. my car IS bone stock except for my head unit =/ eh avalon/solara close enough lol.

They'll take your money to show anything. We've seen GM cars there. But if you want to save a buck, you can park across the street and come in for free.

Jeff, most of the out of towners head out from the show. MI and MO folks have a bit of a drive ahead of them. So if you're talking a different location, best to plan it before the show.

As for the Avalon Greek, please do come! Personally, I thought the fee was worth it when I attended in 05 and 06. It's a good time. You won't regret it.

If everyone is staying in the area of the show, then I'd like to help organize some activities. I think we may have too many people to get on Mike's boat unless it's a Cuban Cruiser.

I'm planning on hitting Chicago on Friday night. So I'm open to meet up with some folks then.

We can do things on a shoestring budget or if you have some cash to burn, we can enjoy the nightlife of downtown Chicago.

My suggestion: Go out for a mid-day cruise. Perhaps out to the Volo Auto Museum. We can drive back and catch an early dinner at a Portillos or the Dave and Busters on Lake Street in Addison. Then continue on to downtown Chicago for an evening cruise on Lake Shore Drive and meet up at the beach park we used the day before the 2006 show.

We can always hit a blues club, lounge, bar or other gathering spot that allows people under 21. (Drinking certainly is not required or pushed.) Some of you don't get to Chicago often, so speak up about what you would like to see. (Tourist items are OK too. Such as Sears Tower, Navy Pier, etc...)

I'm glad to see this still in the works since I kind of forgot about it myself. I'll be bringing the g/f since it's her bday and I can't abandon her. I'm just glad she's down to spend it at a car event!

LOL - Even with the flu, you still stayed till the end. While others bailed early.
