me and my girl friend drive separately, so if any of you have your friend or someone who can ride with my gf and take a video from her car, then we can have all of us on in video.
(well, i need to convince my gf that cruising is FUN, first though... Unfortunately, she likes watching new shoes at a mall, more than watching cars...)

I have a HD camcorder that i can borrow from my office.
if we have a good shot, I can put together a movie with some pictures as well.

if my gf don't want to go cruising we can still pass around the camcorder and take each other's video.

I'll have a friend riding with me & was planning on borrowing an HD camcorder as well, so I'll definitely have some video shots. If there are a few cameras rolling, maybe we can share the footage.... (i suck at video editing)

Yes, the show is at the dealership in Elmhurst on Lake Street. (But hey, who wants directions from a Michigan guy to a car show in Illinois? )

Hell, the last time I lived in Chicago was in 1993. Richard M. Daley was the Mayor. (Errr. I guess he's still the Mayor. LOL) Just like his dad!

I too should have a camcorder and a passenger to take the video...not that my car is all that worthy of being recorded!

Ive been looking into hotels to stay at. If any body else hasn't figure out a place to stay yet maybe a good idea for as many of us to book rooms at the same place. It may make it easier for meeting up Saturday night and/or Sunday morning.

Here are some places I was looking that isn't far from the dealership.

DoubleTree in Oak Brook

SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Elmhurst - $99 a night online right now

^This is the place the Elmhurst Toyota is recommending people to stay at for the show. Its only a 4min drive to the dealership from here. Im not really sure how many out-of-towners this show attracts, but from past experiences for car shows that do attract people from out of town usually the hotels near the show were people stay at are filled with a bunch of people partying or hanging out in the parking lot with their cars at night. Im not sure if this will be the case or not for this show since it sounds like a total of 100 cars will only be at this show, meaning its probably mostly local rides. But do you guys know if a lot of people that go to this show stay here or not?

I just booked at The Extended Stay America. Single king/kitchen for $101 including fees and such. I need the fridge to keep meds cold.
Akora12 will also be staying at the Extended Stay.

You can't miss in Oakbrook, Lombard, Downer's Grove, Elmhurst or Villa Park. There are tons of hotels. Try priceline or hotels.com. Otherwise, try calling the hotel and offer them $90 a night. You might just get it.

One SG member is staying at the Westin Lombard. (Not far away)

Westin Lombard

I usually stay here. DoubleTree Oakbrook

DoubleTree Oakbrook

This is not far away. Much like a Marriott Residence Inn

Marriott TownPlace Suites

This is the Marriott that I have stayed in. It's older but nice. Great breakfast and bar.

DoubleTree Oakbrook

Funny - my wife's family lives in Oakbrook and we've stayed at that DT before - it's nearly across the street from her sister's house. Too bad I can't drive out there and meet y'all though! Have fun!

Im leaning towards the marriott because it looks a little nicer for the same price plus its super close to the show. But if you all decide to stay at the DoubeTree I will probably do that then. Im going to wait till the end of the week before I make reservations.

The Marriott is on the south side of the Oakbrook Mall. The DoubleTree is on the Northeast corner of the same mall. Grab a good rate while you can.
