Nice MKIII! I saw on very similar to this on my last trip to Nagoya Japan. (Except they get the twin turbo in this body style.)

You should bring both rides. Have a girlfriend or someone drive your Solara.

Yeah, MKIII's in Japan have 1jz's. Ill try to make it.

online will be cheaper for the parts. Try toyotaparts4u and toyotapartspeople.
I'm still warranty so I don't know good local shops to rec. Just a couple to avoid.

Arrived in town last night. Spent most of the day with Down2thec comparing the Injen intake versus the CP-e. We met a guy at lunch who was driving a 2000 Solara with only 10K miles on it. (Cripes! You're supposed to drive these cars, not just stare at 'em!) It had to be one of the cleanest Gen1s I've ever seen. We talked him into going to the show. Hopefully he will enter. We may have a new user online. Afterwards, we checked out the digs at Elmhurst Toyota. (Nice looking dealership.)

I'm really geeked about tomorrow. My car is not show quality as the road has been harsh to the paint. I'll do what I can tonight under the hotel's garage lights and fix the major mistakes tomorrow am.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. SolaraGuy should have a good representation.

Jeeze! Your car looked pretty dang good 9 hours ago! If you make that thing any better looking, I'm not going to want to park near you. It already shames my paint job. :-)

FWIW, I thought we had a decent turnout. It'll be nice being able to put some faces to screen names. It was great fun seeing the cars that ranged from near showroom stock (including some almost 30 year-old Corollas) to "sorry to hear about the penis"-type cars.

It was disappointing, however, that no vendors showed up and that the parts department was closed. No offense, but how much of a no-brainer is to keep your parts department open when you have all those Toyota speciality parts to sell and a parking lot of people who modify their cars to sell 'em to?
