Hey Im up for doing something in the evening. Im going to try to coordinate something with all the Ohio and possibly the southern michigan folks to meet somewhere so we can all cruise up to Chicago together. I would image we would try to arrive around dinner time so we can all go out to get a bite to eat and then do some sort of evening festivity. But can any of you local guys suggest any good hotels or area to look for hotels that will be near the show? Hopefully nothing that is in a ghetto area. Is this hooters near the show?

the hooters in Schaumburg is decent and there is hotels right by there. roughly 20 minutes from Elmhurst Toyota if you take the expressway.
The hooters by my area is good too and there is hotels as well and I'm about 15 minutes away from Elmhurst. Neither are in the ghetto area. If you guys want good hotel rates, I can get my sister to try and hook you guys up with insane discounts at the Marriot since she works there. No promises but I can def try since I've done it before. I also know people who work at Embassy suites, Ritz Carlton (none by our area though for the show mainly only in Chicago -out of the way) , Comfort Inn, Best Western, and Hyatt Regency.

Or if any other info is needed, let me know. If I catch you guys all jumping on this discounts just to room with eachother, then y'all on your own. :2gunfire: :rocol:
Don't know why I'm even helping you assholes , but the offer stands for now. Grab it before it's gone. :bird:

Knock it off Jeff. Keep the drama out of this thread. You seem to have forgotten who your friends are. If you want to discuss this more, PM me.

I will probably stay at the same hotel I usually do. The Doubletree in Oakbrook. If you book it well in advance it's $86 a night. The main reason I like it is because they have a parking garage that is usually empty. Great for detailing the car and keeping it free of the morning dew or landscape sprinkler spray.

It's also in my old stomping grounds and just a few minutes south of Elmhurst.

I won't be trying to coordinate the lake outing. To make it simple, the boat leaves Waukegan about 2PM regardless of crew. Depending on weather I can take 6 comfortably so book your spot if you want to sail.

And it's always a good idea to have a foul weather plan.

I can tweak that time if it works better with other plans that are settled, but that never happens.

I may definatly take you up on your sister's discount, but I dont see why it would matter if any of us room with each other. Whats the point on having a room that may come with two double beds and leaving one empty especially if two can split the discounted cost to save more money.

Ill also check out the Double tree and the marriot next to the show as well. Thanks for the tips!

Definitely keep me informed about those who are crusing up to the show together. I would assume that I'm in that grouping if the southern michigan folks are. I'm also down for a little evening fun.

Actually looking at the map and depending on who all from the area plans on going it may be a better route for us Mid and Southern Ohio people to meet up in Dayton where Tacti is at and take I 70 to Indy and pick up I 65 all the way to Chicago.

In your favor we could possibly pick up route 30 and take that up to Chicago, but is route 30 a 4 lane road? And whats the speed limit? Also would we run into any speed traps?

The other option to get the southern michigan folks would to head up to my old stomping grounds and take the toll road 80/90, but Im not a fan of the toll roads because if i remember correctly Indiana makes you stop like every 10miles to throw change in the bucket.

Take I65 to where it meets I94 West. Follow I94 West for 20 minutes or so into Illinois. Then take I294 towards Rockford. This will swing you out to the western suburbs.

Plenty of traps on I65. Indiana State Police runs unmarked Mustangs with roaming RADAR. They will clock you going the other direction and do a 180 in the median. Stay in the right lane and don't be the fastest and you'll be fine.
