Place: Write Pat Air Force Museum (1100 Spaatz St. Dayton, OH 45433)

after museum, we will move to a near by park and have barbecue.

This is not only SG meeting, but more like General Toyota Meet.

I will bring some food and drinks. Hot dogs, hamburger, maybe barbecue ribs.

Solaragirlon18s will bring some chips, coleslaw, forks, cups, plates napkins.

We need,
some more food (maybe...)
some more drinks (probably)
something to play (for sure)
does anyone have big cooler to hold some drink with ice?
(I'll bring one for food)

I know there aren't that many of us around this area, and probably too far from most of other meet held in east and of course west coast area.

How do you guys think about southern Ohio meet?
I'm thinking of Cincinnati, which will be about in middle of Columbus OH, Lexington KY, Louisville KY, and maybe Indianapolis IN.

this is just a feeler, so there are no set time yet, but thinking of some weekend in May.
I just wanted to toss this idea.
There are several parks, so maybe having barbecue if there are enough people.

Might I recommend the Air Force Museum in Dayton?

Nice sized parking lot. It's really a cool place for those who haven't been. And best of all, it's free. Well, our tax dollars paid for it all. Thanks Uncle Sammy!

I didn't even think about the air force museum. even tho it's like 20 min from my house. ^^
that's sounds like a really good idea, but make it a little more drive from KY.

I can check if there are any place we can hung around in addition to museum.
there's a park by the river, but don't know if there are any parking spots, or barbecue grill.
or i can take you guys to authentic japanese restaurant if you want ^^

also about the date wise, there's nothing sets on stone.
I won't be available on June 17th and 18th weekends, but other than that, I'll be fine.
just post the day you want to have the meet, and see which day will be the best for all of us.

I really want this to happen.

I'm in the Cincinnati area near Kings Island...I'm about 30-45 minutes from the WP Air Force Museum. That's close for me so i'd definitely show up. Newport on the Levee would be a great place to go as well. It's on the Ohio River but quite a far drive for those in Michigan or Northern Ohio. Newport on the Levee just seems like a good idea b/c we could all chill at Gameworks and play some games and drink some beer and there's plenty of shopping and restaraunts...plus the Newport Aquarium is a really neat place to check out.

I guess 5/20 or 5/21 is best for me for either location. Cinci is an extra hour each way. (actually 45 minutes.)

I'm not dead set on any location. I'll actually be rolling through Cinci on this Friday afternoon, but I'll have a co-worker with me so I can't hang out then. (Bummer)

so for now, i'm shooting on one of those 2 days.

I also just called Air Force Museum and a Park nearby, and they will be open on either 20th or 21st.
the BBQ grill at the park is first come first serve.
i'm thinking meeting at the Museum early afternoon, and then after that go to the park and have barbecue.
let me know if you have any other things you might want to do.

Seriously, if it rains, the museum is pretty awesome. I was floored by it the last time I went. F117A Stealth, SR71 Blackbird, the Valkarie cold war era prototype, several of the old Air Force Ones, P51 Mustangs, on and on. Where else can you go and touch a thermonuclear bomb?

If you roll in town, I'll stay over that night down there and hang out. Otherwise, it's a day trip for me. It's under 300 miles for you so that's around 4 hours depending on traffic or speed. Not too bad.

If there's no rain, the cookout sounds great too. Either way, let's make this happen. Are we set on Saturday, 5/20?

According to the Weather Channel Sat. the 20th is Rain showers and 71 degree's. I hope that changes. Didn't show Sun.'s forecast. I was hoping to get some pics. Hopefully, it won't rain.

i didn't even think about the rain...
i checked online forecast, and 20th is rain, and 21 will be scattered shower with some sun.

i guess it's time for me to make japanese secret weather charm (???), "Teru Teru Bo-zu"
it's a small doll that kids makes in japan, when you wish for a nice weather.
here's how you make it.

1. take several sheets of tissue paper and make it to a tightly packed ball. (about 1 to 1 and half inches diameter)

2. take couple more sheets and lay it on top of the tissue ball.

3. tie the bottom part of the ball, and hung it by the window.

The ball will be a head and the second step's sheets will be the dress (body).

Make sure you hung it so that it's head up.
if it's upside down it will bring the bad weather and ruin the point!!
