whats crackin' rob?..im down for some canyon carvin..

Anyone interested in setting something up for the afternoon of 3/5?

I'd love to hook up with you SoCalie peeps and check out your rides in person. Dinner's on me if you can pull it together.

I'll be flyin' into LAX on 3/3 for meetings with TRD on 3/6 and 3/7. After that, it's up to San Francisco on 3/8 for a short visit to NUMMI.

I'm still negotiating with Hertz to secure a rental Gen 2 ragtop for the weekend.

I have to agree. Its a long drive for me and I need to make plans accordingly. Like vacation time, hotel room, show tickets and so on...

canyon carving through malibu = bad idea right now

The rain during the week will make the roads nice and muddy while CHP has been scouting around the area due to incrased accidents over the past few months (well, 6 moths ago or so I believe).

Plus the last time we did this, and it was dry, there was almost a 3 solara pile up due to brake fade lol.

A canyon CRUISE would work out fine. A canyon CARVE most definitely will not. Even the Supra was about to eat it a few times lol But Mole gets props for keeping up w/ the performance cars lol. I give myself props for showing up in the 2nd wave behind the performance group by 2-4 minutes and leaving the solara convoy behind by 3-5 minutes lol

Hanatsuki: I really didn't intend to hijack your thread. Just trying to take it to the next level and get it going.

Any chance you'd join in? I wouldn't have thought of this if it weren't for your post.

Unfortunately, my time is really tight in SF so I'm afraid to get anyone's hopes up. If I can adjust my schedule any, I'd like to properly hook up with the North Cali folks. You've got a heck of a crew up there! At the minimum, I'll be back in that area in August for the Monterey Historic Races at Laguna Seca. (I'll set aside an extra day to hook up with the SolaraGuy peeps.)

Carving in a rental car. :o LOL. I think the cruise might be good advice. I'll take the back of the pack!

Let's get this thing setup!

Postby mikee7 » Mon Feb 27, 2006 9:33 pm

I'm up for Canyon Carving point A to B. It would be nice to see SG guys and gals from OC and get to know each other and share ideas and see each others ride.

the rain sucked donkey yesterday!!! i'm a totally wimp when it comes to driving in the rain since i've experienced all the bad things that happen to you in the rain ie spun out, hydroplaned, etc) luckily i never hit anything or anyone.

I'm pretty opened to whatever, the trip to central cal sounds kool but i would think most people would wanna carpool so less solaras :( mountain cruise sounds nice since i'm not sure if my solara will be up for canyon carving :o
