Well I finally got around to putting up my Car Domain web page so I figured I'd drop in an intro (just a little slow coming).

I bought my 99 Solara SLE new from the dealer. I typically drive a car for 2-3 years and trade it in because I got tired of it or it was starting to get expensive to maintain (Mustang). After 3 years of driving my Solara, I still loved it and decided to keep it but I didn't like the body roll going into corners so I decided to get the TRD rear sway bar. Well... after deciding on that, it would be even better to lower the car with the TRD springs, struts and wheels and if it was lowered, it really needed the TRD ground effects. Oh, stripping the pin striping, all badging and adding window tint was a no-brainer - had to!

Now that the car looked so aggressive, it no longer performed to match the looks. First the RMM intake, then the TRD exhaust, then the Supercharger. The supercharger wasn't enough so Apexi S-AFC-II and 6psi pulley soon followed. She needed to breath a little better so I opened it up with the full JP Performance exhaust (headers, y-pipe and 3" exhaust). Not getting enough fuel, I hooked up with Gadget for a fuel system overhaul including 318cc injectors, Kenne Bell BAP and a Split Second Fuel Timing Calibrator (along with some special TLC). The power required a trip to Level-10 to get the spongy auto tranny beefed up! Recalibrated the valve bodies and added the high-stall torque converter.

It certainly didn't start out to be a project car but somewhere along the way it turned into one. I'm not done yet - more to come! If you haven't heard me say it yet, I love this web forum! The members are very supportive and helpful. I really didn't know what I was doing when I first came here. I was lost and really needing help. Thanks for all of the posts sharing your experiences and wisdom! -JoeB

I've had the pleasure of meeting my now good friend JoeB last year at Hot Import Nights in Baltimore, Md. Looking at his car driving on the way to the show inspired me even more to want stay in the import scene.

Him and I have had great conversations about our cars and how far we want to push them. Maybe some magazine will notice us together at a show, put us in their issue, and hopefully we can all earn respect Solaras really deserve.

Welcome my friend.
:D

Hope to see you these coming meets on March 6@Maryland International Raceway and March 20@White Flint Mall.
