99 Solara SLE

For Valentine's Day, I took my wife out to buy a car. (Actually, we had been looking for a while. It just happened to be nice out yesterday.) There were three Solara's on the lot (2 '99's and a '00). We decided to go with the red '99 SLE with black leather interior. Unfortunately, I probably won't get to drive it too often.

I think we got a good deal on it. It had one owner who used it as a "pleasure drving" car. It has just under 40k miles on it. The interior is in excellent condition. It was in a minor fender bender two years ago and has a few minor cosmetic blemishes. They were asking $15,500. We got it for for $13,000 including tax, title and fees. They only thing that we didn't get was an owner's manual (see my post in the For Sale forum).

I drive a '03 Matrix XR and love it. It is Indigo Ink (dark blue) with dark grey interior. It is fun to drive. Wish I could have bought the XRS though. I didn't because it was going to be our only car and my wife doesn't like to drive manuals. :( Now, that she has her own car, maybe, I'll trade up to an '04 XRS.

Welcome to the forums and the family :D . I also have a 99 Red SLE. I sure wish I had the black leather though. I have the beige leather with wood trim. It looks nice for luxury but I'm building it for sport and beige is SO difficult to work with! Check out the events section if you want to meet other Solara drivers. If you happen to be in the DC area, we are having a meet next month and you can see some killer rides and meet some very nice people. -JoeB
