Hello from Las Vegas

Just buying a 2003 Solara SE with V6 with 25,000 miles from an older lady and was wondering is there any problems or things I should know? I will be getting the car Tuesday and just wondered what you guys thought of these cars. I have owned a lot of Toyotas and just came across this car with the low mileage and thought I would jump on it.

Its the pearl white loaded with everything but leather and they were asking $ 8000 and I have her down to $ 6,000 does that seem like a steal a descent deal or just average? and my old 94 camry ran strong with the V-6 are these things quick and do they handle at all or are mods needed?

I appreciate any input and look forward to getting started on this car and this board.

Thanks

Reese

For that mileage it's definitely a good deal. If you keep it stock, everything is pretty much balanced but don't expect great powers. Handling is a little bit below average for "sport" cars, but if you get some lowering springs and some sway bars it would make huge differences. Inspect it thoroughly. Ask for maintenance records since the 1mz is prone to sludge. If she changes her oil it's not a problem then. Very reliable car. Don't expect to go to the garage besides for changing oils ;)

As we say in Hawaii "E Komo Mai" (Welcome) to Solaraguy.
Yup make sure it has been maintenance. Just because it has low miles doesn't mean she took care of it. If you know what I mean. I know oil change is 3-5K but hopefully she did the 3 months change. Be prepared to change out some old stuff. Also, if you do get it change all fluids. But, if it was me I would pick it up. :D

Yeah for only having 25,000 miles that's a great price. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy the car!

Welcome, and great find! I passed 25K in my first 15 months of ownership, and I'm the original owner. Enjoy your stay here on SG.
