My introduction... never too late

My introduction... never too late

Postby SirThomas8 » Fri Feb 12, 2010 2:51 am

Probably should have posted this awhile ago but better late than never right?

First off let me state for the record that I am new when it comes to car modifications and am learning as I go. My dad bought me my Camry when I graduated High School in 2006. Never really cared for car mods until about a year ago or so. My best friend drives a Police Interceptor and has been been into car mods for awhile and he's helped teach me some things and has been a big influence.

Since then I've gotten:
-LED (amber, white, blue) turn signal mirrors (fitted, painted, and wired with a home-made switch board all by myself w00t)
-Tokico shocks
-Intrax lowering springs
-Injen intake
- 20% tints
-generic front strut tower bar
-seafoamed
-new headlights
-light-weight Kosei Sport Edition 15" wheels (dropped 20lbs rotational over stock steelies LOVE the feel)
-OBX Headers (not on the car yet). They're so beautiful and shiny I almost don't even want to install them.

I try to learn as much as I can to catch up and contribute as much as I can to the community based on my own personal experiences, but incase I get something wrong I apologize in advance! I also try to do as much work as I can myself to learn from it.

I drive a 2000 Camry v6 1MZ 4-speed. N/A with a Injen SRI.

I'm currently working with Gabe (TRD4Life) on getting the parts to S/C my car. Some other future plans for my car include getting a RSB, ported TB, CAI, among others. I bought a beautiful set of OBX Headers & y-pipe from someone on here awhile ago so that'll be on there soon.

A little about me: I currently attend a university in Baltimore, and am studying to become a graphic designer. I'm also minoring in Electronic Media & Film. One day I hope to write/direct narrative feature length movies. If anyone is looking for some graphics help, feel free to send me a message I've been freelancing for a couple years now. Everyone could use a graphic designer, as I always say.

The more people like you on this site the better. I like to see people who are learning, but also have info to share to others. People who don't think they know everything, and are willing to accept that. Everyone has something to contribute on these forums. You're open mindedness is something a lot of forum members (not necessarily here) could learn from.

I too am a Graphic Designer. I do print design and web design. I graduated High School in 2004 (I guess I'm REALLY old, haha!) and College in 2007 from the Art Institute International of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I think we should start an Image Manipulation forum on here. I would like to share my work and would definitely like to see others work as well. Also it would give a spot for members like us to share concepts and design mock ups for other members ideas.

Anyways, sounds like you got a good start and I'm anxious to see your Camry build progress. WELCOME!

Welcome!!!

I have a lot of friends that are into Graphic Design. I guess it's
a very popular choice right now. I actually wouldn't mind going
back to school after I graduate my Auto/Diesel program, and
majoring in Graphic Design. I'd love to do CAD too. It would
be nice to have a class that wasn't 99% guys.
Trust me, I'm a technician.

Holy s**t you just called me old! I can't believe it haha. I'm still 21 and getting carded for alcohol, don't scare me like that!

SoSleek, thanks for the welcome. A graphics forum on here would be cool. I like what you did with your sig pic. The ripples in the background complement the curves in the car well.

Haha yeah. Art History class and Screen Process class, both of them are typically mostly ladies. I also go to a campus that is 60% women. Can't complain! :drinking:
