Hey im Joey and i just got this car within the year from my mom and i've been taking care of it ever since she had it. I would post pics but the cars dirty and not camera worthy at the moment. I have a few questions about some maintenence that is due for my car.

I have an 02 solara 4 cylinder gen 1.5 and i was planning on changing the oil and trans fluid. i purchased vavoline synthetic oil premium and a propline premium oil filter at pepboys.

I also got transmission oil penzoil dex III and i wanted to know if someone could point out the tutorial for changing the transmission fluid for a gen 1.5 Thanks and happy superbowl sunday. Go Saints! :sweet:

Welcome!!!

There isn't a tutorial for changing the fluid. All you have to do is remove the plug in the transmission pan, and refill with the correct amount through the dipstick tube. After that, start the car. Let it warm up and with the parking brake and brake pedal depressed, put the lever in all positions to get the fluid circulated. Top off the fluid and pay very close attention to how much you put in. You don't want to over fill it. It's actually better to be slightly low. It's a little more difficult than an oil change, but still very simple.

GO SAINTS!!! :D

Sure man, its on the driver's side. The plug should be toward the back of the pan. You need a 10mm allen wrench for the plug, I suggest a socket type for a ratchet. The plug is pretty tight. If you don't have one you might not get anywhere.
