I need help on my 2000 solara 4cyl. auto trans. I recently took a trip from so. cal. to eugene,OR which is about 900miles. the car was fine going there, but on my return trip things went wrong. it started to shudder only when i try to accelerate. i checked the trans fluid and it was on normal level. i also tried accelerating in gears 1,2, and D(OD off) and same result, bad shuddering. i initially thought that my CV joint(s) was worn r damaged but it didn't make the usual ticking noise at all, which led me to somewhere within the transmission. what do you guys think?

I found the possible cause of the shuddering when i was inspecting the under side of my car. i discovered a almost completely torn inner axle boot that's in between intermediate axle and the right side drive axle. I'm guessing that when the car was driven on rainy days the rain water has gotten into the inside of the rubber boot washing all the lubricants out which led to the metal parts to come in contact. for the future reference for the solara owners, I'll let you know when i take it to the dealer and have them inspect the car
