Hey all – new black 2G here

Hello everyone, it’s great to have found the group! Good to be a Solara owner, gotta say.
I’m located in northwestern Ohio, just 30 mins from Ft. Wayne, IN. Solara is a Black 2004 V6 SE with 75k on it. Body has no dings/dents & interior is flawless, 1 owner lease return - sold for $10,500. I’m *hoping the rumored Toyota dependability will hold up enough to get me through school. Has the sports pkg. (moon roof included in that?) with the black graphite trim & classy outside, I was quite impressed with the car. Very rarely see these cars around here, for some reason! So that’s a Huge plus!

Completely stock so far, though I have done the intake mod http://www.angelfire.com/ky3/gabby/intake_mod.htm, which for free – is Very much Appreciated!! Coming from a 3G Eclipse any extra boost from a dead stop is Greatly appreciated!
I will try to post up a few pics this weekend, weather permitting..


After browsing (& Searching) the boards, a few questions -–
1. Are there any regional meets being set up currently? Noticed there’s no regional boards, so thought I’d ask..
2. Interior color switches – has this been done before? If not, is there a walk-thru for dismantling the dash somewhere? I used to have a 000000000 scheme and after seeing the Solara’s setup, would love to carry something similiar over.
3. Eyebrows - Are there differing versions? & can the group recommend any certain vendors?
4. “Stealth” bulbs - Any pics out there of them in Either the front parking or rear turn lights?? Having a black car, I’m curious… http://stealthauto.com/
5. Projector lens “Demon eyes” - has anyone managed to remove the projector housing & do this yet? Loved the subtle change this makes! * will work on a pic *

Any & all answers are completely optional, but greatly appreciated!! Just wanted to make sure & ask

Planned: 35% tint all-round install Monday, paint calipers Black & debadge “V6 SE” & “Toyota” over weekend.
To-Do: Eyebrows – Upper grill – smoked 06 tails – exhaust – Rims (18’s ?) – rotors upgrade - intake - LED 3rd brake lite - .... ( ? )
Suggestions always appreciated!

( Must ask... since I plan to smoke tails & go with eyebrows... are black grill(s) the only natural thing to do next? or stick with class over stealth?? Appreciate any thoughts!!)

Welcome Ohio naybah! And to answer your questions:

1) Meets are usually under "EVENTS"--the big one is Chicago (Elmhurst Toyota) with closer mini-meets in Columbus, Ohio or thereabouts.

2) Dash light color swaps have been discussed but not sure if it's actually been done.

3) Eyebrows? If you mean eyelids for the top of the headlights, there out there somewhere. A member named Mike T (Artic Frost) used to make them but not sure if he still does.

4) Stealthbulbs--I'm old and not hip to this concept.

5) Demon eyes--see answer to #4 above.

For your final question--"smoke'em if ya, got'em" or "mash with class", it's all up to you brudda!

The BEST bang for the buck mod you can do first to the car is getting the TRD Rear Sway Bar. Pretty much anyone that does it vouches for the great improvement in the car's handling. So I suggest looking into that before you make some visual upgrades. (Performance > Visual)

Welcome. If you have the funds, look into the cp-e too. you'll love driving 10x more with the cp-e and rsb.

This is what I meant by "demon eyes".
When projectors are turned off, at certain vantage points they reflect a color... mostly noticeable at night under a bit of lighting. (i.e. parking lots)
