Hi, I just bought my 2000 Solara in March and I love it. I have been reading stickies on this forum for help and decided to become part of the community.

I love the lines and the look of my Solara but unfortunately it's only the 4CYL - oh well, I love to rubberneck anyways. Wish it had the leather, though.

So far I have replaced the stock alternator with a high amp (165) version, upgraded the big 3 (thanks for the help), ran Knukoncepts I/O from the front to the back, installed (Xtreme) Dynamat on the doors and trunk (and rear tray) and installed the rest of my audio components. They are:

Alpine CDA-9853 MP3 Head Unit
JL Audio 500/1 Monoblock Sub Amp
JL Audio 450/4 Midrange/Tweets Amp
MB Quart RSI 216 6.5 seperates in the doors
MB Quart DTH 169 3-way 6x9s in the rear tray
2 12" Rockford Fosgate Punch DVC subs in a sealed box

I really love this car and l want to continue to pimp it out and drive it. Wish list:

lowering springs (or bags.. maybe :D)
Zenik Z15 Verona 18" chrome wheels
New Yokohamas
TRD 1.5 bodykit? Or maybe the Kaminari body kit? Those are the only two that weren't terribly obnoxious..

Thanks, despite a few scratches, this car really shines in the sun and turns females heads wherever I'm bumpin at.

I have done a few audio installs in a few different vehicles and I have to say this one was the easiest and cleanest teardown/assembly I have had to deal with.

A few questions: What's up with the foglights being different, is that a kit mod or the difference between 1 and 1.5 gens?

I have to slam it.. I must.

Are Eibach springs really so bumpy in a sol? I had them in my 94 ac legend and they were decent until you loaded the car with homies..

Get some coilovers if you want to slam it. JIC, Tein, K Sport, D2 all make applications for the Gen 1. Also, you might be able to get ISC coilovers from Ultra Racing.

Welcome

gen 1 and gen 1.5 differed in their front facia (headlights, fog lights, grill), and in their tail lights (altezza-style versus what you have)

also, trd/molley designs no longer makes the lip kit (discontinued), but kamanari makes a good quality replica (from what other people have said). look for the kamanari one, it'll be easier to find.

and now that you have the audio portion of the ride done, you need to tint it, slam it, and throw on some 18" wheels

welcome to sg
