Ha, this is my 4th post since August and my profile has my average at 1.6 posts per day... dang i guess i didnt have a life back then! LOL I wish i could say I'm back but I'm actually not, just taking a lil break and seeing what you guys are up to.

For those that don't know (which i think is ALL of you lol), with the assistance of my gf, a buddy of mine, his wife and a 5th associate (A Board Certified Doctor), we opened a Hispanic Clinic in Atlanta... it may come as a surprise to some of you as you guys probably remember that Kevin (xavier) and I had a wheel business going on. Well that biz is still there, we haven't dissolved it, but each has had other issues to deal with that we simply didnt have time to take care of it. I plan on continuing the wheel biz, as a matter of fact a buddy of mine may take over temporarily, but it will eventually have to piggy back off the Clinic.

My gf manages the clinic, my buddy's wife works there as a Physician Assitant and the Doctor is the Medical Director. My buddy and I both work somewhere else but after work we go to the clinic to check things out and to find ways to promote it, etc. We came up with the planning, funding, all the logistics, etc... it has definitely been a team effort, but the best part is that we are actually helping people.

Many hispanic clinics in the Atlanta area have been abusing their role in the community; they over charge people, often misdiagnose to make more money, and their facilities literally look worst than a crap hole. So after almost a year of hard work (planning, and working out the logistics), we finally opened our clinic on Oct 16th. We had been in business for a little over a month, and we are already doing better than our competitors, which often find ways to threaten us, or copy us (isnt that great!) ... they sure as hell don't know who they messing with 8) ... so, that has taken me out of the game for a while, it's a full time job X 2, it's a great service to the community and also very lucrative (well not yet, we got tons of bills to pay).

I've also been involved with an organization called ABLE (Atlantan's Building Leadership for Empowerment) through my church.

ABLE is a faith based, metropolitan-wide, multi-racial community organization. It works to bring people together across the lines that divide the region: race, class, language, political boundaries and political ideologies.

Recently we had our 1st public meeting with State Officials, legislators, congressmen, senators, etc. (not as hispanics, not as african-americans, not as caucasians, not as Asians - but as a community) to demand reforms in common interests such as education, healthcare and immigration issues affecting us ALL and I can say that it was pretty motivating, exciting and terribly exhausting (along w/starting up a clinic), but definitely well worth it.

Anyway, I recently enjoyed my 1st weekend off after who knows how many months and hopefully (crossing my fingers) I'll have more time to check this place out and keep on making fun of some of ya'll! -- oh yeah, the lara has been in the Garage most of the time, my sis-in-law bent a wheel  but i got it replaced so it's still nice and purdy!

See you guys around!!! :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:
