New: 99 Solara Owner...

Hello, the name is Jen, I just turned 19 and got this as a 'new' car. I'm a girl that never knew much about cars but really starting to think about modding this car up a bit. I'm a new owner of a 99 Solara that my dad recently gave me. 116K but still drives well.

I'm not really into all the fancy race mods on it but I do want a clean car with good handles.

Main thing I'm looking for....OEM Lip Kit, Springs/Shocks for a slight drop, and some nice wide rims (not too expensive i hope).

I NEVER owned a Toyota but i heard about their durability so I hope this one can last me for awhile.

Is there any problems that I should be on the look out for? Like OEM factory malfunctions that i can get fixed at a dealership due to recalls?

I'll be checking here often, i really need you guys help on this.

Hey thanks for all the welcome guys.

What would you guys reccommend for a slight drop with a comfy ride? I rode in my friend's 03 Accord V6 on S-Tech w/ Koni Yellow SP3's and they were smooth. I dont want to slam my ride, just a light drop, 1.4" Front and 0.7" Rear maybe? The suspension for this car is something i have no clue about.

As for the qutoes...

hehe, im glad i found this forum because im clueless about cars. My friend owns a Honda and Sin-R V6 is his ID name so I'm using it for mines here since i finally own a V6. Is there any threads with pics of Gen1-1.5 Solara's? I really wana look at different drops.

Also does anyone know what bolt pattern my car has? 5x114.3?
