Just stoppin' by to say hello. I drive a 2007 V6 SLE, Silver Metallic w/hids. No mods yet, but am looking at CPe intake, TRD muffler, rsb, front brace, springs...and whatever else I will soon be able to afford!

I used to drive a 2004 V6 SLE, but that one ended in an 8 foot drop-off when my son was driving  I'm back in business now

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm from Roseville, CA which is just north of Sacramento on I-80.

Yes, my son is okay, as are the other three teens riding with him. He was driving down some backcountry road in Lincoln, CA and hit a patch of gravel while attempting to follow the road as it turned left...next thing he knew, the road dropped out from under him and the car fell into a creek-bed crossing under the road (about eight feet down). Fortunately, he wasn't going very fast, but enough damage was done to the frame and body that the car was totalled.

Welcome :D

So, how do you compare the differences between the 2 models?

I've been hearing/reading alot about the issue of delay when you lay on the throttle w/previous models. I did notice the delay somewhat with my 2004, especially on exiting turns. I could somewhat defeat the delay by turning the traction control off, but when you get on it, the delay was still there. I am happy to say that the 2007 feels much more responsive. I don't know if that has anything to do with changes made in the engine compartment with respect to airflow, or not. But the car definitely is smoother in transitions and does respond more quickly to throttle input :onfire:.

As far as aesthetics go, the 2007 has HIDs :o , a reworked grill and airdam, the taillights are LEDs, turn signal is clear with amber bulbs, the backup light is now located on the bumper instead of being in the taillight assembly. I now have bluetooth built in so I don't have to hold a phone in my ear  the stereo sounds different, can't quite figure out what they did. The "wood" is lighter colored and more brown, as opposed to reddish/brown.

I'm happy with the changes, although I would have hoped Toyota would put the 3.5l engine into the Solara, too.
