HELP! MY GAS TANK IS SHRINKING!!

HELP! MY GAS TANK IS SHRINKING!!

Postby mh » Mon Sep 25, 2006 8:36 pm

Hi,

I was trying to figure out why my gas tank won't hold but about $10 worth of gas w/o spilling over. Is it safe to keep driving? Should I stop driving and get it fixed? I'm afraid it will blow up or catch on fire. Help!

I think we al need a bit more information to help you.

This could be a gauge problem: Reads empty, really mostly full? Try driving about 300 miles after a fillup. My Gen1 v6 will get 325 minimum out of a tank, in the worst of conditions.

Could be a pump problem: does this happen at all gas stations? There are supposed to be shutoffs to you don;t get splashing. Bad for the environment, and stinks like heck too.

check to see if your gauge is working properly.. doesnt seem like your tank can shrink man.

But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.
