obviously a new guy here. just wanted to say a bit about myself. i've owned a 2005 solara v6 se for about a year or so. i'm a dedicated audiophile and am not too crazy about being fast, but seeing as how the car is already pretty fast stock i really don't find a need for bolt ons and other crafty gizmos to put inside. car audio for me is a perpetual work in progress.

my current system is as follows:
eclipse 8443 source unit
cdt yellow eurosport mids
cdt es200z passive crossovers
dayton reference tweeters
(2) zapco reference 200.2
ppi art a600.2
stereo integrity magnum claw 12"

nice setup, how is your sub mounted?

yeah you dont' gotta mod the gen 2's for speed..they are decent stock and you don't wanna get all into that anyways...at least me now

welcome!

thanks!

sub is rear firing in a 2 cu.ft. box

any hobby involving car performance or audio is already taxing enough on the wallet..better one with extra cash, than two without any food

Nice setup bro, glad to have more audiophiles aboard :-) I share a similar view as you... I'm pretty much in my car more than I am at home (and when I'm at home I'm usually sleeping or on the net), so I gotta have some entertainment in the ride!! The Solara ain't a race car, but it moves pretty well for what it is... While I'm trying to do a bit of both (performance and audio) I favor the audio/video, and I realize that the more I put into it, the less of a performance vehicle it is :-P Anyhow, can't wait to see some pics of your ride / setup!! Keep us posted!

Peace,

-James

thanks james. i like what you did to your ride. it looks very clean. i'm probably not going to post pics in a while since my center console is in shambles thanks to trusting some shop monkey to screw it up for me. the h/u is setup, but looks kind of nasty with the cage exposed and such. i will be working on a new project to fix it however, and i will be posting pics along the way.

Pianist, Very Nice! (Nice choice in color too! Looks like mine)

I like the CF on the center HU area. I can't see too well, but is this pretty close to the CF decal used for the dash and door trim on the SE sport?

Did you do this or did you purchase a kit somewhere? Very good work.Look forward to the details.

It may be worth it if you post that response up in the Gen 2 Aftermarket Upgrades area.
