New member to the club ...

Hi all ...

Just picked up my new 2006 SLE Convertible last Friday. It took 7 agonizing weeks to get it but I'm loving it now. I was really picky about what I wanted. I got the Absolutely Red with Dark Stone interior and NAV.

I also got the Guidepoint Systems Vehicle tracker. It seemed like a little better value than LoJack. My old car was a 1996 Acura Integra GS-R. This is my first convertible.

I'm loving it so far ... starting to get a feel for the little "issues" like the ugly front license plate, the need to use "the force" backing up (since there's no way to see back there), and the quirks with the navigation maps (driving down the road I live on doesn't quite show me on the actual road.)

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself to "the club" and say I'm looking forward to many years with my new toy.

Welcome to the forum. You might want to investigate getting an Eclipse rear view camera mounted in the back license plate that displays on the NAV to help your force strength. Do a search on that.

I just don't understand how Toyota doesn't see this as a safety issue. I'm usually pretty good driving in reverse, but this would make anybody complain. Talk about blind spots, I wonder if the designer actually drove it in reverse?
