Sup people?!!?

I've had my Solara for about a month and I love it! I unfortunately had to get rid of my 1999 monte carlo Z34 (i drove it a wee bit too hard  ) So i got basically the same sized car with a 5 speed. I just wish it had more power. So could someone please tell me where to find a turbo manifold for this 2.4L engine, I already have a T3 from the monte and i need some general info on this engine. And thats how found this site, so any input would be appreciated.

I have some pics in this thread on my Monte Carlo board

thanks but i meant more along the lines of bore x stroke, compression ratio, block tolerances, etc. No TRD parts have been released yet according to my local dealerships. And I didn't get the V6 for 2 reasons, 1 the car looks pimp as is and there weren't any lunar mist metallics with the ground effects kit. And 2 because the 5 speed doesn't come on the V6 which I think is a big no-no on toyota's behalf

:bad-words:

I think there are a few fit and finish issues with the car, and the shift linkage seems off, sometimes denying me a shift, or putting me in the wrong gear :-?

Ouch about the shifter. Otherwise the cars have been generally good after the first few months of production.

I think there will be more aftermarket parts for the 2.4's than the 3.3's, especially since it is the same motor used in the Scion tC.

Yep, I've got a '00 V6 5 speed manual with s/c :P You'll have to get a BIG turbo and probably internal work to stay up with me...lol...:drinking: But, Toyota sucks for not making anymore V6 5 speeds. :x

By "block tolerances" I meant the amount of power people were getting out of the engine before they become large paper-weights

Nice car Astro, very nice

My buddy has a Scion tC he and I are both waiting for more aftermarket support on the engines, we both could care less about "looking fast" we just want to be fast 8)

Hopefully within the next week I'll be able to see what this baby can do I'm probably going to be racing my buddys in thier, 1991 VW Golf GTi, 2005 Chevy Cobalt Coupe, and Scion tC. We found a very large parking lot of an industrial building to test our skills, probably set up some cones and race around a bit. Who knows

Yeah, go fast is much better than look fast !

The tC and the Solara, while they have the same engine, are slightly different in weight. But only slightly.

05 Scion tC Curb Weight: 2905lbs

06 Solara SE Sport V6 Manual Curb Weight: 3175lbs

So same motor, but you're giving up weight to your buddy. Maybe he should carry a passenger? Some fat guy :D

Another thing is the gearing, I'm trying to find out what his final drive ratio is, i think both cars are geared the same but i'm curious on the wheel diameter and weight would affect the two cars. I'm trying to pick it apart on all angles to see where my advantages are
