Hello Everyone,

I'll be honest; I've been avoiding joining any communities or anything (with exception to Car Domain) and people have been hitting me left and right with "SolaraGuy" this... or leaving notes on my car when I'm in stores, restaurants, etc... "SolaraGuy" that... So, I finally gave in and here I am! Don't be offended, the main reason I didn't really wanna join up with anything is mostly due to time constraints... I don't have much time outside of my job, girlfriend, etc... to really keep up with anything! Some background... I'm 25 years old, from Northern Virginia, and I've been a Toyota fan since around 1988... yeah, before I could drive (legally)... I recently got rid of my '93 Celica GT in favor of a 2004 Solara SE Sport V6. I was initially looking at the Solara, Maxima, G35 Coupe, 350z, RX-8, and a few others.. knocked it down to the G35 Coupe and the Solara, and decided on the Solara... Reasoning: It had more rear leg room, less common on the road, unique style, more faith in Toyota than Nissan, and a whole lot of potential for "upgrading"... along with the fact that the G35 Coupe I was interested in ran $41K off the lot.... With all of the investment I have put into my Solara so far I am still not quite at that bracket (close, but still have a tad more before I hit it), and it is (IMHO) much better off than the stock G35 I was peepin... Still waitin on the TRD supercharger though! Here are the specs so far:

2004 Solara SE Sport V6, Black on Black

-TRD Lowering Springs (-1.2" front / -1.4" rear)
-TRD 18" x 8" Chrome Touring Wheels (mfg by American Racing for TRD)
-Michelin Pilot Sport 225/45/ZR18 Tires
-TRD Front Tower Strut Brace
-TRD Rear Sway Bar
-TRD Sport Muffler
-TRD High Flow Air Filter

-DocJohn's Vacuum trick

-Toyota Auto Dimming (electro-chromatic) Rear-view Mirror

-Alpine IVA-D900 In-Dash 7" Retractable Screen / DVD Player
-Alpine NVE-N852A DVD Navigation System
-Soundstream Rubicon 604 (85W RMS x 4 @ 12v, 4 Ohm)
-Soundstream Class A 10.2 (1000W RMS x 1 @ 12v, 1 Ohm)
-Soundstream SC-5C (5 Farad Capacitor)
-Soundstream SPL12 12" DVC Subwoofer (x2 in dual [.8 cubic ft] chamber sealed box, parallel / parallel @ 1 Ohm)
-Boston Acoustic Z6 6.5" Components (2 Pairs)
-Mobile Spec Pro-Ice Series Interconnects
-Lightning Audio Storm Series Power / Ground Cables (0/1 Gauge)
-Monster Slot Fuse Holder (165A slot fuse)
-Dynamat Xtreme Door Kit (x3, for both doors and trunk)

My Car Domain site is at http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/588556

Gotta run for now, but I'll try to keep tabs on things.

Peace,

James

Welcome to the forum James.

Glad to see you finally registered. It's understandable that you did not want to register due to time constraint. Just peep out SG from time to time and you should be okay.

Looks like your mod list is up there already, so there's not much left to do. Everything from here on out is custom  .

Enjoy the forum,

Thanks for the welcome everyone, I look forward to checkin out the rides and possibly picking up on a few ideas. My next step is going to be tinting... but unfortunately VA law only allows for 50% / 35% (net numbers), so it's only gonna be mildly darker. Should still look slick on the black and chrome though. I would go darker, but I already pick up enough attention from the po's... and with the way I drive I really don't need any more! I'm also waiting on Alpine's next series of ceiling mount drop monitors; I'm gonna drop a 9" (I've heard there is potential for Alpine to release a 13", which if that is the case I would go for that) from the ceiling behind the sunroof (the Alpines are pretty flat compared to the other makes so it wouldn't look funky when closed. I have a few other things in the works as well, but still trying to decide on priorities.

Take care,

James
