I think we all agree with you. It's a great car to love.

I work with a supplier to Toyota. Per my latest schedule, the MY06 starts production in August 2005. Give it a month and a half to clear the marshalling yard and get distributed to the Atlanta area. It may reach there sooner depending on the inventory level of your local dealers.

From a high level, I don't have any significant changes listed for the MY06 Solara. I'd keep an eye out for a MY05 as September rolls around. I'd bet you can get a good price on the '05 when the '06s hit the lots.

I believe the MY07 (Available Oct 2006) will get a refresh to the front end and possibly to the engine. (3.5L V-6 I hope.) I don't have that info firm yet. I'll check with TMC when I go back to Japan in 2 weeks.

JackAss Jeff always seems to get good preproduction information. Hopefully he can add on to this post.

<- I am, THE JACKASS =D

Since the 06 model is not a major change from the 05, it should be released alongside all the other 06 models that haven't changed... so I will say late August to early October. That seems to be the average date of release for the "carry-overs".

When they come out, the deals will come out for the 05s (if you don't mind the lack of power lumber support, not a big deal!)

However, if you are getting a 4-Cylinder, it's worth the price of the 06. It is finally moving to a 5-speed auto (Accord has been 5 Auto since the model change!! and the Camry 4-Cyl just got the 5 Auto in 05). The 5 Speed auto also comes with an upgraded torque converter, so you'll have less mechanical loss. If you're getting the V6, just get the 05. No changes except for the power lumbar button...
1GR-FE ftw!

Also I see that the avalons highest models come with HID's stock.. does the solara have this option for the 06 sle's? and if not do you think its possible to get it threw dealership.. why i ask I know they have hid kits but id rather have dealership throw it under warranty then worry about it myself.. This isnt a big concern of mine but was really currious to add their hid setup behind the solaras nice projector head lights for premium luxury look..

BTW thanks for answering so quickly... That was coo...
