Yup, I'm new...

First thing. Mods, you can delete the profile under the name of Poseidon. I created this because I was expecting my confirmation email to come through right away on this username/email, but it took a day, so I created a second account because I was impatient.

Second thing. I own a 2004 Toyota Solara SLE as well as a 2003 Ford Mustang Gt.

For a while, I absolutely hated Toyta after I got this car. I had the problem with it pulling to the left, but after my car being in the shop 18 times within the first year, I went to a lawyer about lemon law. Toyota refused to swap out my car, and instead of dealing with a lengthy battle to get this all taken care of, I just took 10k from Toyota as a settlement, and kept the car (with payments). I still love the car, and it still pulls to the left. Other problems that I've had is the sunroof making a terrible grinding noise (had to have that thing oiled down 2 times, and the window seal has popped 2 times (haven't taken it in for the second time yet), so that at highway speeds I get a nice wooshing sound in my left ear. The only other problem I had was finding the friggin oil filter. I don't think they could have found a stranger place to put it, but now that I know where it is, I'm fine. All in all, it's a good car, and with as many miles as I put on it each year, it's done well. I currently have 34,500 miles on it. I'm basically on here to chat with other car enthusiast as well as find out what else on my car has a TSV (if anything). So Hi, and I'll be around!

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Nice job with the settlement. I'm sure you'll find many helpful posts here and with your amount of experience, it sounds like you'll be able to contribute alot of knowledge. It sounds like you have one of the highest mileage 04's on here. How long did your OEM Bridgestones and brake pads and or rotors last before they needed replacement by the way? We need to start getting baseline numbers since the car is out over a year.

truebluestang - 2004 Toyota Solara SLE - high mileage

Postby michaels artic frost » Thu Dec 02, 2004 6:36 am

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your stay. Sorry to hear of your misfortunes with the Solara, but good to hear that you got a nice chunk of change out of the whole ordeal.

Your Toyota Service sounds like a buncha idiots in regards to the left drift. That should have been resolved. Take a look at this left drift compilation and see if you can print some info out and take it to those foos are your dealership...'18 times' and still not fixed...unfreakin' believable. :drinking: :drinking:

Good to hear that after all said and done that you're still happy :) with the car.

Regards,
Michael
