Ok...Ok My eyes are startin to hurt from lookin through all these posts... So sine this is a newb question... IM here. LOL. What is the difference between the gen 1 and the gen 1.5. I have a 2000 4 banger solara. What is it?

The gen 1.5 four banger uses the 2.4L motor while yours is the 2.2L motor.

THe V6 is the same from what I know.

Of course the body of the two generations are slightly different.

4 cylinder changed to the 2az-fe with vvt-i

front bumper and headlight redesign included both a high and low beam bulb instead of a dual filament bulb

fog lights are slightly different

tail lights are slightly different

interior wood trim changed

those are te major items, im sure other things changed as well.

I'll reenforce the aforementioned differences and classifications just for
good measure. :drinking:

Gen 1 was from 1999-2001 and Gen 1.5 is from 2002-2003.
Gen 2 is totally different and is 2004-2009.

The V6 is the same for all Gen 1-1.5 except that the 1.5 is drive-by-wire.
The four cylinders went from 2.2 to 2.4 for the Gen 1.5.
The front end is different for the 1.5 it has a different shape and
the headlights and fogs are different. It has separate hi-low bulbs.
The taillights are the only other difference as far as I know.
There might also be different electronics etc. for the interior.
