i recently bought an 06 solara convertable. it was a demo and it turns out
that it didn't come with a owners manual. i'm about to blow trying to
figure out how to convert the displays from metric to u.s. i've pushed every button that can, even ones in my husbands car and in the house!
surely it's easier than i'm making it. will one of you big strong men help me?
thanks

Welcome to the forum.

I really can't help you with your problem. I can only suggest going back to the dealer. I've never heard of a new car that didn't come with a owners maual, demo or not. What displays are you talking about? Speedometer? Climate? Odometer?

Hi Lindy!

W-E-L-C-O-M-E ! ! ! :D

Not sure on the gen 1's, but I believe it involves PRESSING AND HOLDING either a button or combination of buttons for several seconds. (Either that or pressing the right combination momentarily...?)

I think on my '04 you press the H and M on the clock for a few seconds?

...something like that...

(Sorry, I could look it up, but I've already had several steins of Guinness... and as you may know... the bubbles SINK in Guinness Draught Beer... so I am a little too heavy to get up at the moment. :-? )

Too much Guiness Chris...she has a gen 2.

Lindy, I'm not in my car, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think the clock buttons are labeled with the combo needed to switch between metric and US measurements. I can check tomorrow.

Page 202 of 2006 owner's manual

Unit A = US unit
Unit B = metric unit

Push and HOLD H AND M buttons beside the clock for about 3 second to switch between both
