Hello, I am only 17 and am about to get my first car. It's a dark blue 99 or 00 (not sure) Solara. Unfortunatly it has an auto transmission and, I think it's V6. I don't really know details because I'm getting it from my uncle, but it's in perfect condition.

At first I was kinda dissapointed that I would be getting the solara, since I always dreamed of an RX-7. That all changed after visiting this site, now I can't wait to get the solara and mod the heck out of it :D . However I am quite confused and overwhelmed with what to buy first. Once I have the car, I will have a buget of only around $1000 for mods. To start with I am looking to make it sound loud and mean and get either a performance upgrade or a body kit. Any advice on what to purchase and where to purchase it would be greatly appreciated.

welcome!dont worry, the automatic isnt that bad. and i could be wrong but the dark blue is a rare color on solaras.... post some pix of it. if theres one thing we solaraguy member cant get enough of its pictures! some lowering springs and a set of nice wheels and tires would be a good start. maybe some tint too!

Arn't wheels and tires $1000 alone? Also what would make it sound better, exhaust kit?

a cat-back exhaust ( Greddy, Apexi, etc..) with an injen cold air intake or cp-e intake would sound nice.

welcome to the site, to get the best results I'd go for suspension first. Then grab a cold air intake for some aggressive sound and a little boost in performance. From there see what cash you have left and let us know how it turns out.

thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I wont be getting the car for probably another 2 or 3 weeks so I can't put up pics until then.

Problem is I still can't find a good place to buy parts for the solara, I havn't found anywhere that has a cold air intake for solaras either. Where can I find these?
