Hello, long time reader, just signed up.

Just a little bit about myself:

I live in Loma Linda, CA (in the Riverside area) and I go to U.C. Riverside.

I drive an automatic, BONE STOCK ( :( x 2) SE V6 Solara. The only things I really have done to it is an Ipod adapter for my deck and I also have an Infinity Basslink in the trunk. I like to autocross the Solara every now and then and I also hit the track (Buttonwillow or Willow Springs).

That's about all I can think of right now. Hope to get to know all of you sooner or later :)

P.S. I also try to "drift" the Solara every now and then :drinking:

Depends what I'm up against.

I get annhilated by real V6's (i.e. 350Z).

I can pull away my friend's 240SX, and most other 4 bangers, pretty easily once I hit the straightaway, but he catches up immediately in the corners.

The Solara would be a lot better if I could get a decent suspension setup on it.

What are you planning on going with? Are you getting issues with the rear going up in the air and sliding? I had that issue with mine before we did anything to it. Now I can get the rear wheel almost 2 to 3 inches in the air and have 0 chirp or ripping of the tires. Course my setup eats tires fast. Running a neg 3 camber on the fronts and around 2 on the rear. This is one thing the solara needs, once done your car will be something different. At really high speeds you can tell right away. On stock setup I would slide around 65 on a bridge by me. With my current setup I can push down 100 and not loose grip at all (unless it's wet. May be crazy but not stupid).

Going to go to a track in a few weeks. Be the first for me at one so I am kinda curious how well the car can do.

The car is just too soft from the beginning.

From what I've read here, if I could get Tein or TRD springs plus Tokicos (or if I could somehow get coilovers), TRD RSB and FSB, and 225's in all four corners, I could corner MUCH better.

As for your first time, I say you enjoy it as much as you can because once you leave, you WILL have a very bad urge to go back ASAP.

My Solara is pretty noticeable (UCR badge and a louder than normal exhaust). Say hi if you can :D

Welcome!! If you really want to tighten up that suspension check out the aftermarket section for 1.0 to 1.5 Gen Solara. There are a number of Rear Sway Bars, Front Strut Brace and front sway bar options that will help. You can also upgrade your springs, and struts as well.
