HI EVERYBODY!!!!

HI EVERYBODY!!!!

Postby Christobal » Wed Mar 30, 2005 3:01 pm

While I was sitting at the Toyota dealership last weekend, waiting for our salesman to return from, yet, another trip to the manager's office, I wondered to myself if there was a message board pertaining to the car I was about to commit 60 months worth of payments to.

It seemed to take me a while, but I found ya. And, I'm glad I did!!!

My wife has been pining for a black Solara with a tan top for close to a year. I'm not really sure why she so adamantly wanted the convertible (she HATES the sun beating down on her dark hair), but I admit, it does look pretty classy.

We picked up her dream car on Saturday, minus the NAV system I was kinda looking forward to. It's a black SLE convertible with (you guessed it) a tan top. You folks in my neighboring areas can blame me for the lousy weather (downpours) we've had lately. "Chris bought a convertible.... (sound of thunder)".

Anyhoo, I'm looking forward to diving into the boards for any tips and information related to this lovely automobile. My first area of interest will be "how the heck do I take care of this convertible top??"

Thanks for being here!!

Always yours,

Chris

Postby michaels artic frost » Wed Mar 30, 2005 4:53 pm

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase and glad to see you found this site.

Just out of curiousity, since you are concerned about the tan drop top; how come you didn't get the black drop top? (Maybe they didn't have it...just my guess)

O well, glad to see you're here and enjoy the site. Any pics?

Thanks everyone!!

CDEEZ: It's brand spanking new ('05) so I assume it's a gen 2. I need to look into what, exactly, that means.

JAI: Thanks. That certainly helps!!!

MICHAELS: Why not the tan top? Because when I pointed out the one with the black top to my wife, I was only talking to the hand. :-?

Guess what? 50 degrees and overcast today with MORE RAIN TOMORROW! Sorry!!

I'll try and post a picture once it's nice enough outside to take one.... after the first wash, of course.

Have a great weekend!

Yours,

C

As promised (but VERY dirty...).....

Image

We FINALLY got the top down to see the cherry blossoms in DC yesterday.

What a beautiful day/drive,

We still have a few minor abrasions that the dealer is going to fix. Once that is done, I will begin teaching my wife the fine art of Auto Preservation. I can't do hers AND mine.

Thanks again and all the best!!
