greetings all, i feel like im at an AA meeting. My name is brian and i have green 99 slev6. i owned her since she was new, but i have had her stuffed in my moms garage for the last 3 years while ive been in japan. now that thats over with, im moving back to the states in june and need to mod this biatch. right now the car has some 20s on, well not really they 10s but i keep em real clean......j/k....i got 17s and need to add:
S/C, a true cold air intake, apexi s-afc(is it worth it?), cat back exhaust, RSB, springs/struts, trd body kit(green). maybe you guys could give me a heads up where the cheapest place to order this stuff is. new or used. which exhaust is the quietest? i dont want it real loud, but i do want the gains.
thanks.

welcome!

you really in japan? that's tight if you are...

anyways, enjoy your stay...as for the cheapest parts, you're going to have to shop around ebay and toyotaparts4u.com. the quietest exhaust you can get other than stock is prob going to be the trd muffler. good luck with the mods!

Welcome to the forum Brian.

Hope you make it back to the states safely. Sounds like you have quite a bit of items on your future mod list. Get back soon and so you can start moddin' and upgradin'.

Check out the Aftermarket Upgrades (Gen1-1.5) and the Wanted/For Sale for parts for your car.

Enjoy your stay.

welcome, since you are currently in Japan, you should venture into the aftermarket products being offered there (this way, you could gain access to certain imzfe parts which may/may not be available here).

Do note: solara is a n.american car only! its not available outside states. Hence, my previous statements, "1mzfe parts".

im in the USAF. i fly airplanes here.

i've found all the standard internet sites...thought you guys might now of or have a secret squirrel hook-up on prices...

arent the trd kits on ebay unpainted? whats it cost to get them painted to match?

raphael- whats the psp?

info on japan - everything is expensive as crap here....and things arent as easy to find as in the states, plus i dont speak japanese - hard language to learn. it might be different if i was in tokyo...
but some things are cheap, real cheap. i drive a 94 civic with 60k on it out....paid $400...although my wife says i have real bartering talent....full price would have been 600. :D i almost bought a 93 FD for 2500. the older evo's range from 3-5 grand for a fairly nice one....you can check yahoo japan auctions, but you'll need a translator. problem is you have to pay upwards of 7 grand to make it US legal. sucks.....

so ive been doing alot of reading on this site, awesome site BTW, and are supercharger, cat back, struts/springs easy DIY installs?
ive never done them before but i want to do it myself.

anybody here from daytona beach or savannah, GA?

Welcome to the forum and welcome home (when u get here). I too have a 99SE Green Solara with a few mods in it. Where in GA are you from? I live south of Atlanta so if you are in the vecinity make sure to look me up if you need help with your mods. Aight man, talk to you laterzz

PS. oh yeah, some mods are easy to do once u know what tha hell you are doing. This past monday i installed my new exhaust and RSB by myself, so that is not hard. Springs/Struts -- i just dont mess with that zhiet, but other stuff (CAI, stereo/speakers, brakes) I've done so I can help you there.

i will be going to ft stewart...near savanah. i was gonna try to do it all myself. probably will need help though since ive never done it :D
you put a dvd player in yet? i think i might. i got this car thats been paid off for 2 years now, but i havent driven it in 3. i dont want to sell it and suck up a huge loss just to spend 30k on a new car, so i figure i might as well pimp it out. plus, i just bought new rims cause my old ones were bent to crap (thanks to north texas and phoenix for that one). im thinkin all new speakers/subs and a dvd. is that an easy install too?
