I am getting a 2004 SLE tomorrow. It is being delivered from Texas. I was just wondering what color the lights were in the inside, like on the radio and the spedometer. I have seen pictures where they were blue and green and I was just wondering if they were like that on all of them. I can't wait to get it!!!

Congrats on getting an SLE and welcome to the forum. What color did you get and where are you getting it delivered too? The speedometer lights are bluish while the info and radio lights are more greenish. Noone seems to be able to figure out why they didn't settle on one common color theme but it isn't that big a clash and still looks very nice at night.

It is red.....I can't wait!!!!!! I live in Ringgold, Georgia. It should be here tomorrow evening. I am so excited. I've never had a solara. I have always drove a lexus. I have a 98' navigator now with 22" spinners. I am so scared to switch to a car again since I did so much to my navi. I just hope I'm doing the right thing. I haven't got to drive one or test drive the one I'm getting since I've just seen pics of it....Do they drive good?

Congrats on your new purchase and hope you get it tomorrow. The Gen 2 Solaras are very comfortable and are also fun to drive.

Wish you all the best with your modding and upgrading. SLE 4 cylinder or V6?

P.S. Looks like your answer about the interior lighting has been answered, so I'm going to move this over to the Introduction section so other members can welcome you.

It's a V6. There is nothing done to it already but the first thing I wanna get are some rims. I just need a suggestion first. I have no clue what kind to get. I was also wondering about the navigation in it. If it was cool or not??? What all should I do to it. I really want it to be different....

What Milt meant was not to put 22s spinners, but instead put 21s spinners and that will look hot and no need to drop it...heehee.

What look are you going for, racing or blinging?

Unfortunately, you will find it difficult to add the Toyota Navigation unit to your car if you haven't already bought it. It is super cool by the way. You are one brave person to buy a car without first test driving it but I'm sure you'll be happy with the ride. I just did a 4 hour each way road trip this weekend and it was so comfy I didn't even need a stop to stretch. My mileage said 32 mpg in the car's display and the pump math came out to 31. The NAV saved my bacon driving unfamiliar roads in the Boston suburbs at night in rainy weather with few road signs and lights. You can check out my mods in my signature for an example of some you might want to consider getting.

Welcome to another GA member! We are finally getting some momentum here!

I know you are a bit outside of Atlanta, but hey Chattanooga will be a suburb before we know it, LOL. Maybe you can come to one of our upcoming meets...Rene, that1mexguy, typically sets them up.

I may have a detail day at my place (Dunwoody/Sandy Springs) on Saturday, December 11th. I'm going to do Randomman's Camry anyway.

As someone that owned a Gen 1 and now a Gen 2, I believe the Gen 2 is a better riding car in most ways...the SLE has a much firmer ride stock than my SE V6 did.

It is very nice riding car with decent performance. Refined but sporty.

A friend with an ES330 and I did a comparison @ the SELOC meet a few weeks back...the SLE V6 has a number of parts in common with the ES...same engine, tranny, the door panels share a lot of common parts, same material on dash...the list goes on & on. Of course there are a few things the Lex has the Solara doesn't, but they could be siblings. It was funny because when we popped the hoods for someone the only differeces were: the ES has a the L Lexus logo versus the Cowboy logo on the engine cover & the VVTi is red on the Solara vs. silver on the ES, the ES has HID & the grille stays down on the Solara while it raises up on the ES so the front looks different.

I wish we could get the Levinson NAV/sound system but at $3k that is a pricey option.
