Brand new member here from Southern California.

I recently purchased a 1999 SE V6 5spd. Black with beige interior. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Just washed and waxed:

Pretty damn shiny, even for a noob to detailing.

Guess we can do some interior, too.

I love everything about this car. I got it in damn near perfect condition, only 55k miles. I'll post more later, just glad to find a site of like-minded guys to ask questions about the car.

Congrats on the car. It looks like it is in great shape cosmetically...and I'm a detailing nut!

I had a 99 5 speed SE V6; you will really like it.

Welcome to the forums. You just had to go getting the color I wanted, bah! Grats on the 5-speed, I know how hard it is to find them. Try looking for an '02! *shudders* Glad that's all over.

Any plans for changing things out? Wheels (the ones on it look nice as is!), engine upgrades, or anything of that nature?

Not a whole lot to change, but I've got a few ideas. Mostly superficial, but maybe someday throw a TRD supercharger on there and a short shifter to make it a little more sporty. :o

I think I'll keep the rims the same; I'm happy with them right now. I'd like to remove the TOYOTA emblem on the back, then switch the oval logo and the Solara emblem to chrome. I'd switch the SEV6's on the sides to chrome too, if possible. It seems like all the trim and wheels and such are chrome, I'd rather it all be that way.

Interior, I'd like the change all the dash lights and indicator lights to amber, like in a BMW or infiniti. As awesome as the stereo sounds, I might switch it out. I'd like a little more oomph, and to be able to hook up my MP3 player through an AUX in. If I do, I'll go with:
H/U - Nakamichi CD400 (maybe a CD-700II if I go a little crazy)
Sub - 1 RE Audio SX10
Mono Amp - JBL BP600.1
Were I to replace all the speakers, I don't know what I'd get yet.

All in all I'd just like to keep it looking clean. No real exterior mods, no neons or such, and I chose the nakamichi head unit cause it looks plain and sounds amazing. It doesn't do alot, but what it does it does amazingly well. I need to put an alarm system in before I put in audio equipment, so thats in the near future. And leather would be nice, but not a necessity, so it really depends on how I am financially in the spring. Yeah, so I've got some modest plans, but regrettably on even more modest means...

Ah, I also want to put some simple lights either in the doors or up under the dash, just a normal white light, that turns on on a dimmer when I use keyless entry, to light the car up at night before I enter it, and then turn off once the car is turned on. Anybody know about how to do that?

Speaking of electronics, I think I'll follow the tutorials I saw and make the windows and sunroof always on so I dont have to keep the car on to adjust them.

Damn, I guess I do have some plans for it.

Oh, lastly, if anybody knows anything about what I just said, or has done any of it, wanna give me any tips or heads up? Thanks, I'd appreciate it.

As far as giving back to the forum, I tend to be pretty good with audio stuff and simple fabrication (fiberglass and such), so if anyone has any questions, I hope to be able to help out.
